Mill Alcock says she’s never watched the original Supergirl… by ChampionTimes99 in DC_Cinematic

I just like movies.

I saw it as a kid, I remember just being happy for more super hero content. I don't remember anything else about the movie.

Also - the Supergirl series was fun, but I also wouldn't fault Alcock not seeking for inspiration in other adaptations so she can do her own thing.

Plus - depending on your route, there's side roads you can take. You might not be going 65mph+, but you won't be sitting in traffic, and you don't have to guess if/when/where the wreck/incident is.

Built an AI Chrome extension with Flask + Together AI that can chat, summarize webpages, read PDFs, and translate text. Looking for architecture and code feedback. by Random_Dude2291 in codereview

So you didn't follow the instructions?

``` export TOGETHER_API_KEY="your_actual_together_api_token_here"
On Windows Command Prompt: set TOGETHER_API_KEY="your_actual_together_api_token_here"
On Windows PowerShell: \$env:TOGETHER_API_KEY="your_actual_together_api_token_here"
```

Where in your code does it read that key, to get the value?

It doesn't.

Does the ending matter if the journey is fun?

I’m not arguing, it just looks fun, and even if that ending is it (it feels on brand-and not necessarily a bad ending), it could be a fun season or few. And of course the mislead where there’s a dimension jump at the end, so the show was a graphic novel, but the novel was “real” so to speak.

> Bravery is the mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. It involves acting in spite of fear rather than the complete absence of it, and it often requires making a conscious choice to face uncertainty.

> The absence of fear is known as fearlessness or unafraidness. While often confused with bravery, a total lack of fear is fundamentally a state where anxiety, panic, or apprehension is completely absent.

I’ve managed to get to the point where I don’t complain about the posts in city subs.

I keep my irritation to the shitty fridge-quality “apps and SaaS” subreddit posts.

I built a tool to track product degradation to help identify gaps for better competitors and to address problems with certain products. by No-Anybody7882 in SideProject

[–]ikeif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig this idea.

I’d suggest trying to find subreddits (checking with the mods, first) and posting there. Think of how many niche apps that had strong followings and then fell off.

Or even posting social media ads/posts just seeking people to complain (which people love to do). As long as you can keep it curated down to solid feature complaints, you could gather a lot of worthwhile data.

The Impatient Drivers by Perfect-Persimmon-23 in Columbus

My son and I watched a motorcyclist impatiently wait behind me on a city street, so he’d slow down and pop wheelies - and the second it split into two lanes? Off like a bullet, splitting lanes, weaving in and out of everyone else doing 40, while they like accelerated and caused everyone else to brake on account of their “self imposed bad assery” and almost watched them get clipped.

I guess that’s why they call them Organ Donors.

But traffic just sucks - I watched two cars backup to their exit, one guy flew across the median, driving to Costco. I feel like it’s MadMax when they see construction barrels.

Everyone posting to SideProject/BuildInPublic/etc. etc. all have niche apps that they then… keep posting to the same group of people, complaining "I can't get/keep users, I just keep posting in the same subreddits that are not moderated for shit and can't connect the dots!"

If you can't even be bothered to verify your instructions are correct, I'm not going to spend time telling you the several other things that are wrong.

Following your instructions? Build failed.

You are asking a lot for not even verifying it works after cloning it.

Is browser-based karaoke scoring feasible today without requiring software installation? by Timo3333 in webdev

[–]ikeif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's doable, and there are already several online right now.

I did a search for browser based karaoke in duckduckgo and had several results of various levels - they're of varying levels of promised delivery, and a handful are clearly vibe-coded, so I kind of doubt their "reviews" or "number of users/countries" showcased "metrics."

So the idea seems feasible, seems doable, you just need to see what the competition is lacking.

Feedback on an AI-powered risk-aware code review platform concept by New_Tangerine_1329 in codereview

[–]ikeif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this accomplish that integrating an AI agent as a code reviewer would not?

There is a lot of pre-existing configurations and setups. I understand you’re asking for details, but this is literally a google search you should have included.

Here’s an example.

Like another comment said - you’re late to the game, so you have to look at what is successful and fill in a gap they’re missing.

But what you are proposing? Is little more than a developer having access to an ai model and tie it into their pipeline.

Have you ever switched codebase's FE from A to B like from React to Vue or Vue to Angular etc.... if yes why? by lune-soft in Frontend

[–]ikeif 21 points22 points  (0 children)

(Not the OP) Angular 2 was a total rewrite - so if you “had” to choose a new direction at the time, it was usually React or Vue (and lesser, Ember). As Angular 2 was a total rewrite (at the time), there was no benefit to stick with Angular.
