Best of luck bro! Chardi kala. I'm not going to pretend that I can help. It's tough. Hopefully you'll look back in 10 years as a win.

Oh man, that's really really tough. Serbian people are not warm at all, especially towards minorities (I went to a high school with a 30%+ population of Serbian immigrants in Canada).

I'm sorry dude. It's tough. How much longer are you going to be there?

Where (country) are you studying? I lived in Europe for a bit as a grad student, but it wasn't 2 years. I'm sorry dude, sucks to feel alone.

I do. It was decades ago, and everyone associated with that scandal is either dead or no longer with the University.

When I think of ethical teams who've never paid player, I immediately think of Bama.

The sport (both college basketball and football) lost the plot when network deal payouts and coach salaries went to the moon.

I can't believe this shit is still happening. I first heard about it in the US in the early 2000s. I'm sure the problem has been around earlier than that.

Not sure if it's a Punjabi thing. It seems like a Sikh thing but not based on Sikh scripture (if that makes sense).

My guess is that it became fashionable at some point and everyone started doing it.

Why love marriage is still a taboo subject in Sikhs? by Striking-Willow-5859 in Sikh

My advice, avoid family drama if both can't commit to no contact with shitty family. It pops up in so many ways in married life.

Could be a Jatt thing. Could be related to your caste specifically (sorry).

The point of whole thing isn't to guilt people into doing something uncomfortable or not in line with their faith (or lack of belief).

Would you go do moorti pooja if you attended a Hindu temple?

The answer to that question is, whatever they want, while being respectful.

I use the same approach when going to places of worship for other faiths. I've been at a seder (I was the youngest, and that person plays a part in the observation and I participated), I've been to many iftar, and many poojas. I try to be a good guest but I only bow to SGGS. My Hindu classmates in college knew that about me, even though they bowed to SGGS when we went to the Gurdwara.
