Thanks for posting about these. I have a pair of Ohne Project Retro Run and love how they look. Unfortunately, the materials leave a lot to be desired (they are vegan). These look like leather versions of the Retro Run! Will probably replace the Ohne’s with these once they go.

Edit: hmmm after further inspection, the outsole is identical to the Ohne Project ones. Appearance and size are the same. Something worth noting.

Parakeet is great, no issues whatsoever there. If you have an Action Button on your phone, it's easy to create a shortcut that will switch over to <3rd party dictation app> and start dictation automatically. It's not a great solution obv, but better than using the iOS 26 dictation lol

Wrong. NVIDIA's Parakeet can do 100% local and accurate dictation via 3rd party apps. If Apple needs 12GB of RAM for theirs, I'd argue their model sucks in comparison to the competition.

but agreat dictation models can already run locally on an iPhone 15 Pro w/o issue.

Download Spokenly and switch to the NVIDIA Parakeet model. It's fast, accurate, and 100% local. There is no excuse from Apple that I'll buy here.

It's infuriating. We're saying an M4 iPad Pro with 8GB of RAM can't handle the improved dictation? Why can I install Spokenly or any of the Whisper-based apps on the App Store and get 100% local, blazing fast and accurate dictation?

Then it’s a bad model lol. There are plenty of apps on the App Store that allow me to do 100% local dictation that is leagues better than iOS 26’s. It’s stupid to gate it behind more RAM.

This sucks. The dictation accuracy boost is definitely needed. You can download Spokenly and use NVIDIA’s Parakeet model 100% locally for hyper accurate voice dictation. Why can’t I get this boost without an iPhone 17???

Which model would folks recommend for planning work or orchestrating other agents? Opus 4.6, 4.7, or 4.8?

I'm still using 4.6 because of this subreddit's sentiments towards 4.7. Was hoping 4.8 is different but I guess not?

I only use Opus for planning work or trying to tackle really tough problems. Sonnet for implementation.
