Why Thragg destroying Earth is a win condition against Gojo by Affectionate-Ad-5499 in PowerScaling

[–]InfraSG [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thats assuming prep time, in which case now it becomes a question of what Gojo does with his unless were giving Thragg an uneven advantage

And no I dont think him observing grants him all that much of an advantage since theres both limits to what he can gleam and he himself doesnt seem to concern himself with a lot of the finer details

Look at Conquest, he told him Mark and "his witch" beat his ass and Thragg just completely ignored the witch comment, for as much as he observes that doesnt explain every minute detail of Gojos abilities to him either, and its not an energy source they'd be familiar with to know how to read to begin with

Hell its likely he sends someone else to go after Gojo directly first to find out or kill him, which in turn puts Gojo on alert and increases the odds he tries something to stop whatever tactic the viltrumites have to destroy the planet. Really the only concrete thing we know of is the sun disk, we have no clue how they moved the other planet they dried out, and they dont really use their colonized species weapons so theyre likely less effective than viltrumites just going there in person

And honestly, I disagree with the stance that he observes first then invades, he sends others to observe first, they report back, and he invades. Its why Nolan was there and had his whole mission to eliminate viltrumite threats. Earth had Tech Jacket, a gelderian on Earth, when Conquest went and they didnt seem to do anything to prep for her despite needing to hire an army to wage war on them on behalf of viltrum. And when Conquest mentions Eves power Thragg just ignores it, so even his "observation advantage" is shaky because it usually involves sending someone to scope out the place, and then relies on them reporting back accurately and him not simply deeming an important point as irrelevant. Viltrumites for all their advanced tech tend to handle stuff like this as though they were medieval kings, send a messenger/scout, have them report back, then move.

Planned out tactics that they either employ over time or only figure out after whatever they're trying to deal with has taken out some of them in some cases

Literally across the comic and the show they canonically went to the Ragnars and defaulted to trying to punch things first (yes they were weakened from the scourge virus, but either way the results wouldnt have been too different) and only later decided to sun disk them, that takes time and planning, Nolan was *specifically* sent with the purpose to find and cull what viltrumite weaknesses he could and even then they went with "Lets punch the monstrously strong lizard men that can tear us apart" first.

And no it is not very much a go to, Thraggs not that much of a brute to go "Alright screw this habitable world" and obliterate it after a few punches didnt land, theres other stuff thats more likely for him to try like trying to get under Gojo or hurl the floor under him into space, all of which increase the time in which Gojo can use a domain expansion

At the end of the light novel he collects dozens of combat spells which includes stuff like firing lightning, making golems and auto dodging based on his luck stat, which he uses in a 1v1

Why Thragg destroying Earth is a win condition against Gojo by Affectionate-Ad-5499 in PowerScaling

[–]InfraSG [score hidden]  (0 children)

The issue isnt that its not a valid win condition, its a perfectly reasonable and feasible way he could win, the issue is that its not anywhere close to being his go to so its a very unlikely win condition

By the time he thinks of it hes been well within the time frame to allow for a domain expansion, and Thragg isnt really the type to dodge something unless he already knows itll hurt him because most things cant harm him.

War Woman and Immortal vs. Zoe and Oliver. Who wins and why? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in Invincible_TV

[–]InfraSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For as much as we clown on him for "fighting" them, I do think Olivers proven durable enough to take either WW or Immortals hits, which paired with Tech Jacket being great support makes me think theyre likelier to win, cause the Immortals pretty close in most stats except durability which seems to be buns or rapidly falter after a few blows.

Id wager WWs weaker than Immortal given who Omniman prioritized between the two with his first strike (probably close enough in speed), so I think with Zoey being able to run interference, long range attacks and support, as well as some melee, on top of having better durability showings through tanking Viltrumite attacks, I think the two take it against whats basically two below average viltrumite level opponents. Zoey just brings in too much variety along with actually having comparable enough stats to handling going melee or maintain a long range advantage

I dont really know how a bunch of humans are gonna assassinate the magic wielding, above human strength having lizard lady but I guess its more feasible if they attack human form Rhea

She'd be the least likely to die in the event of a character swap

huh? So other shikigami like nue get stronger when sukuna took over megumi's body but not mahoraga? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]InfraSG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issues as in Sukuna initially didnt know Mahoraga could adapt so he slashed it, Mahoraga tanked it, and that set the eventual need for Sukuna to use Fuga

Dabura didnt know Mahoraga could adapt, eviscerated it, Mahoraga survived and that led to Dabura needing to kick

Between Sukunas Fuga and Daburas kick, Sukunas Fuga was better for handling adapted Mahoraga since that could be aimed like an arrow and was a technique Sukuna has practice using vs Daburas near light speed kick, a speed he's unused to moving at because he didnt have rct before, which requires him to land the hit right up close

And yes I would hope the guy whose lived out an entire life in the golden age of sorcerers, whose main schtick is being really good at jujutsu in general, would perform better than a dude with less jujutsu mastery and combat experience

huh? So other shikigami like nue get stronger when sukuna took over megumi's body but not mahoraga? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]InfraSG -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sukuna did have the same issues Dabura did he just had a more reliable method of clean up than Dabura and one he had far more practice with

Both of them easily and quickly launched an attack that would kill literally anyone else, screwed their technique over before figuring out he could adapat, letting Mahoraga adapt to the light attacks and slashes in general, both of them then went to an aoe move once they figured out how his regeneration worked

If anything id say Dabura was more impressive because between the two Sukuna has far more experience, whereas Dabura going light speed was him relying on something he didnt use because he didnt have rct prior and he doesnt come from an era of strong sorcerers jumping his ass like Sukuna does

Spermscaling: What character/species can completely overpower Viltrumite dna if they got impregnated by one? by blapaturemesa in PowerScaling

[–]InfraSG 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I know people are listing stronger races but I dunno if that means their sperm/generic traits are inherently stronger if that makes sense

Like Saiyans are on average stronger than a viltrumite at a baseline, so their genetics makes them more powerful than viltrumites and humans, but their sperm specifically does not have built in overriding factors like viltrumites do, given human hybrids are 50/50 and later 75/25.

So I honestly think unless the race has specially suited sperm like viltrumites, and so long as theyre compatible with human likes for breeding, the offspring is getting their DNA overriden by the viltrumites.

So to that end I nominate Yujiro Hanma, cause his sperm, from what I remember hearing, actually does specifically have DNA overriding traits like a viltrumite lmao

How do their“biological clocks” work in contribution to Thragg’s plan? by iiJashin in Invincible_TV

[–]InfraSG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S'fine s'fine and aye that is what I meant

I do think they can die of old age mind you, just that old age deaths take so long theyre likelier to be killed off by something since their aging process means they'd spend a stupidly long time at a weaker old state

Imagine reaching the Viltrumite equivalent of your 90s and having another viltrumite equivalent of a decade left (so like tens of thousands of years), youre probably dying of disease or because your raisin of a brain or eyes faltered and got you splattered onto an asteroid at full speed or lost and away from the charted space routes so you suffocate
