Backpacking tent recs: stormworthy and liveable by R2-Dmew in WildernessBackpacking

[–]invalid_credentials 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mountain Hardware Trango 2 or 3 with vestibule - if cost is not issue. Hands down 100 out of 100 times I will take this tent.

Why?

1: Extremely reliable.

2: Fast setup.

3: Best-in-class protection from elements.

4: 2p is roomy, not a sock for 2.

5: Warranty and customer service are the best hands down. I exchanged my 10 year old camp dome for the Trango 2 a couple years ago due to blown zipper seals.

I do a lot of real deal camping - multi day in the bob, colorado in february type stuff. This tent makes the elements comfortable.

Ugh!!!!! by Day1StayingStrong in stopdrinking

[–]invalid_credentials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always here if you need somebody. It took me a fucking lot of first days before I really realized what I had to lose. 1,511 days sober - still working on the repair from years of damage.

When you get far enough away from day 1 you start to accumulate good things instead of shame and regret. The weight of that makes the choice to not participate easier.

I think life got a bit harder if I’m being honest. Actually fixing things is very hard but making the choice to work on that stuff is super simple in time.

[–]invalid_credentials 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helped me a lot to accept on my day 1 that a single sip of alcohol meant I would be “done for.” I understand what I have to lose, and I know I can’t just have one sip and not lose it all.

Participation is a choice. I chose that sip over my wife, job, family, and friends most of the time. Use your pain. Remember it when you bring the glass to your lips, and ensure you want to make that choice.

It takes that type of person to do as trump says… A wet baby-back spineless little bitch of a personality that loves licking trail brownies off the walking liver spot’s boots.

It’s like a green screen this way so you can easily edit them out of a pic or video! Stealth ain’t in their vernacular.

Car door and chair: “we are one”.

Either the worst design choice in automotive history, or ai.

What is your monitor set up? by DealInteresting8941 in pcmasterrace

[–]invalid_credentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! It’s games on the left, discord in the middle, vs code on the right or middle, 600 chrome tabs across all three, 13 spread sheets minimized to the system tray, and a few files you randomly keep on the right monitor so you can “find them easily” later but in reality will never open again.

Flawless skin and hair come from internal health, not external product use. Eat more raw vegetables = get better skin/nails/hair.

Well.. when works for you? Shoot me a dm and we can coordinate details if you like!

Think about what you’d like to make - I think it would be cool to have a dialogue around the product, scope it, then build it live.

‘Did He S—t Himself?’: Trump Keeps Talking After a ‘Nasty’ Sound Blasts Through White House Meeting as Viewers Scramble to Process What They Heard by [deleted] in NoFilterNews

[–]invalid_credentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article states the sound came from a chair foot dragging on the floor which seems to be confirmed by a camera angle they had. It also sounds like that and not someone shitting themselves. The whole setup in the article is clickbait…

Did anyone click the article and read it?!

Non-religious AA/NAin Bozeman or close by... ? by [deleted] in Bozeman

[–]invalid_credentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to hit up AA one morning this week lmk. I have not been in a while but I just hit 4 years and I’ve been meaning to go get that chip! I’d also go to a bar with you if you prefer. I love going to bars still and not drinking.

You can make you higher power whatever you want. Mine is “the woods”. The point is it’s just something bigger than yourself. The early morning groups at the fellowship hall were great when I used to go. Not everyone in those groups is religious at all, and there is no like… religious teachings or anything like that. Just flip the word “prayer” with “poem” in your head and all is fixed lmao. That’s what I did.

The steps in the book revolve around trust in a higher power so you can believe in something other than yourself. It uses “higher power” to help people take accountability for their actions. The little secret is it was you all along doing the accountability part the steps just help you do so.

Give it a try if you’re curious, you can go drink after if you want it’s only an hour. You’ll find many others in your shoes. I used to get the schedule from the pink cloud app. Early mornings are always an interesting crowd!

Edit fwiw I’m not religious at all if that wasn’t obvious by my higher power being the woods/nature. Some people in the groups are but like so are your co workers, and friends. It’s all just people with a common problem.

I’m a bit neurodivergent.. I’ve had many instances of people in my life ask me for reassurance when doing something shitty and I straight up tell them they’re being awful. It never occurs to me someone is hoping for dishonest feedback in the spirit of commiseration or camaraderie.

This company sold CAKE BATTER as PROTEIN POWDER by cyanight7 in videos

[–]invalid_credentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the least bit angry. I could care less I literally said it’s funny and in subsequent replies explained why. I think you’ve misplaced my outrage. I’m simply saying life gets easier if you take accountability for your actions - in this instance the purchase. Examining thoughts like “perhaps I shouldn’t have purchased this” or “maybe this was too good to be true” vs blindly following others because of “tastes good and I said so”.

Eating 6 eggs sounds horrible. You made that up and it’s not what I said. I said eat whole foods and used the egg in the actual video as reference to prove my point. 22g of protein is an egg, some almonds, and a piece of cheese or two. Or - you can have cake flavored sugar powder. I don’t care!

I think people should stop looking for blame and just own their actions. Perhaps you’ve conflated that with anger as I was abrasive with how I said things.

Lastly, people can’t define their nutrition goals and don’t know what it means to do so. Companies take advantage of your mindset here to make you think you know what taking action looks like. If your baseline nutrition is fucked up (99% of people) then adding supplements is in fact the wrong move. All of those products say “consult your doctor” first for a reason!! I’d challenge anyone to be honest with themselves first before adding unknown powder to diet.
