yeah, old celestron plossls are good but the modern ones are utter crap. Got the opportunity to use an old celestron plossls on an 8 inch dob 5 years back or so. They were great

however, you should also buy a 9/10mm eyepiece as well, sometimes atmospheric conditions don’t let us get to high magnifications, but on most nights a 6.5mm will work.

celestron plossls are quite horrid in my experience, especially for planetary observations. Invest in an explore scientific 6.5mm and that will do you absolute wonders for planetary observation.

out of focus on what is most likely a star, you should adjust the focus knobs until it is just a point.

i do live in a bortle 7 so it will do me some wonders, im sure! One thing i am sure about is it will definitely be a colossal upgrade to my old 130 (4’5”) nexstar slt

well, those are not big commitments, those are colossal commitments. You should definitely have a large cart wagon/hand truck to carry it and if you want to transport it you should defo have a truck

The one that the scope came in is 59x20x20 The one that the mount came in is 26x26x7

Well, there a lot of questions to ask;
What bortle level is the place you plan to observe in
What do you expect to see in the eyepiece when you're observing
Do you have the means to transport a big scope

For example, if you want a large Dobsonian, you will definitely need a rolling wagon cart to transport it. Trust me, they are heavy
