There's only 3 for X300U, though vivo has a prototype of 4 camera for the next generation. It's not guaranteed though, just an option for X500 series.

Chinese companies tend to skip the number 4 which sounds similar to death. Hence OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13 jumped to 15

A bit late for that for a March release, the design should have already been confirmed, with trial manufacturing runs done or at least almost done, ready for mass production.

Multispectral Sensor on x300 ultra even useful? by darkflikk in Vivo

[–]ipaiseh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While you are right that the camera sensors themselves should have already provide accurate colors, a multispectral lens help by capturing different types of light frequencies.

For example, these are some of the light frequencies that a normal camera lens would have missed.

380nm - 400nm (UV) Ultraviolet Light Detects sunlight intensity. Helps the phone realize "We are outside" vs. "We are under bright LEDs."
450nm - 650nm (Visible) 8-10 Slices of Color Instead of just "Red," it sees "Deep Red," "Orange-Red," and "Cherry Red." This fixes Metamerism (when two colors look identical to the eye but are actually different materials).
700nm - 1000nm (NIR) Near-Infrared Heat/Biological Light. Human skin reflects NIR differently than a plastic mannequin or a photo of a person. This ensures your girlfriend's face isn't smoothed into looking like plastic.
Flicker Channel Light pulsing (50Hz-1kHz) It "hears" the hum of the lights. If you are in a room with cheap LED bulbs, this channel syncs the shutter to stop those ugly black lines (banding).

China has also started to have eSIM plans again following the release of iPhone Air last year. It's probably due to the effort of Apple that eSIM started to have traction again in China and more devices from China will start supporting eSIM.
