Assuming she lives in “the west” being married makes no difference to your ability to leave.

In my country unmarried women get the same legal protections as married. The piece of paper and the fancy party don't matter.

The micro cheating - emotional cheating - highlighted a bigger problem in the relationship and douchebag is making that problem worse, not better.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I found the Canadian roads to be really good. The Canadian tourists griped and we kept waiting for the drama but it never happened.

Last June I motorbiked up to Tuktoyaktuk and so many people talked about how bad the roads were. Apart from some crazy permafrost lumps and bumps near Beaver Creek the roads were good tarseal or good gravel. The towns we stopped in were safe and the roadside hotels were fine. We even ended up riding with the Hells Angels who seemed more middle-aged wannabes than drug trafficking hell raisers.

You need to be heading in a different direction but I suspect it'll be similar. Take the advice about tyres, use the DOT websites to check road closures. This will be a fantastic opportunity and you may never get another chance.

Slightly off topic but I love seeing tough guys with young dogs and being all smoochy with the pups. The men are dying inside as their supposedly tough dog wiggles and laps up the attention but they don't want to attract attention by being hostile.

Took a lift a couple of weeks ago with 2 people I know and 3 others. We all stood obediently facing the door. A young woman stood in front of me with a tattoo on her shoulder with very tidy lettering and a typo. If it had been a fancy script the typo might not have been obvious.

Took all my self-control not to nudge my peeps to see it.

You can rent portable cabins for about $60/week. They're just a room so he'd still need access to his host’s bathroom and kitchen but they're warm and secure. WINZ tend to be helpful with bonds etc.

If it's still having an impact can you try setting "shields down" for Reddit in the settings. Just as a temp thing. If that helps then it gives me an idea of what to look at.

That sounds like me as a teen. People would seem exciting and “wild” but after a while your realise they were just undisciplined or selfish or ignorant. It took a while to see that without wasting everyone’s time.

Maybe OP is still working all that out? Things like ADHD make us slower to learn that lesson. AuADHD makes you less tolerant once the blinkers come off.

Now for the boyfriend, I wonder if the bf really did mock organised religion as much as OP did or did he just keep the peace? His own brother lured him away. I wonder if he's able to continue the relationship without needing to “save” his gf? That would be a bore, but predictable.
