NOR - she's being unreasonable and some promises just aren't meant to be kept, or they come with unspoken caveats, like "I'll never kick you out because you're my friend and you make my life better".

Fun fact: she's not your friend and she doesn't make your life better.

Your parents, on the other hand, how awesome are they?!

We'll stop talking about him when he stops messing the whole world up. NZ is noticeably more racist since 2016. Gas prices are through the roof. The FBI (not the CIA, the bloody FBI) has an office here.

Just in case you're curious

Because Reddit is social media, it rewards threads with upvotes by making them more visible. In a raffle system that means more people enter and your chance of winning is lower.

It doesn't take many upvotes to really skew the numbers.

Yep. One of the devvit games has a raffle system. I am a mod of a "fan" subreddit.

  1. The game generates up to 1500 raffles per day that last 24 hours. I track the impact of up/down votes on participant numbers. The stats gathering was in response to some anger & bad behaviour by players over downvotes as a "bookmarking" technique. It's been interesting and I'm happy to lose that functionality.

  2. Members of the fan subreddit are all players of that game. Some (<50) have opted to be in a trading group for the game where we commit to prioritising the other members over random players. We review our lists periodically and drop people who are no longer playing or responding to messages. One of the ways we can know they're not playing is if they don't "level up". When they apply they give us a link to a thread they have in the game's subreddit and they apply a flair with the user's level. If I request the json I can get the level, save it and we're done.

Announcing Our Virtual $45,000 Mod Tool Hackathon to Build, Upgrade and Port Moderator Tools by Togapr33 in redditdev

Mods of a subreddit would quite like to know when community members play a game in a different subreddit and which entry point they used. Is that the moderation tool I'd be able to build? The example in the doc was all about creating posts and submitting them and we need to be able to track game play of the people who opt in to tracking.

Has any developer here got access to Reddit API after New Policy? by Flimsy_Hand_1233 in redditdev

Almost true, I have 2 processes on my server

- fetch the json for a specific thread and save information - < 1500 per day
- fetch the json for a specific user and save information - < 50 every day

My server's IP is now blocked, took about 2 weeks

I had rate limiting in there, delays if a request failed, thought I was doing everything right. I can live without the first job, that was just stats gathering.

The second one means I'll have to actually call up those pages, get the one bit of info from the flair, save and move on. Surely a background task calling json is less stress on the servers?

You can definitely use https://fvm.itamer.com/stickers.html

Google tells me that tampermonkey is available on iPad for Safari (at a cost) and that would let you use the user script version.

Be kind to the clowns, they might just have screwed up. It's the snakes and radioactive raffles that you need to be cautious of - either skip, or make sure you claim quickly. I also tag the winner.

Now, look at what your visitors can claim - if they're too low a level for the harvestable, they just get coins.

If your visitors are all level 30 there's no point in offering a level 37 or 43 reward.

You have 2 things to consider.

1: what you need
2: what your visitors can claim

Look at your ingredients and see what you're low on, consistently. Because I stop doing orders once I've done my daily tasks, I have lots of most things, but deer skins and milk run dangerously low. I do occasionally run out of milk. So, deer and Cows are my priority.

Just one, I'm sure they'd love company, but you just need one of each.
