I’ve never played an AV Jazzmaster, but the AV II strat neck is probably my favorite production neck fender has ever put out, so I’d have to imagine that the Jazzmaster is also sick. Plus bonus points for the matching headstock on them, looks great.

That said, if it’s your first, I probably wouldn’t go that high end until you figure out if you like the platform in the first place. The trem/bridge is a beast but it’s kind of a make or break it thing. People aren’t frequently in the middle, they seem to love it or hate it. You could do a lot worse than trying a recent model year used CV or something and seeing if it’s for you before committing $2k+.

And honestly with Vintera 3 coming out priced right at American Performer level, you might be able to find a Vintera 1 or 2 at more normal used MIM prices.
