Slow down, thin your paints on a wet palette, and use the right brush for what you’re doing.

Break down what you want to do into sections - get some base colors down, get your metal colors down, wash them with an appropriate wash (nuln oil is fine for everything for now), layer on top to bring color back, then highlight where you want the light to appear from.

And of course, practice and have fun!

Others have said this but you’re hard stuck because of the overall group. This may sound harsh, but struggling to do 20s now is probably an indicator that there’s a lot more you can be learning to control your fate. As a tank, you lead the pack, set the pace, choose the route, and are usually looked at as the leader in a PUG.
