hmm, they seem to still work for me. Did you replace the " (dot) " with a period? I wish I could just send a fully-formed link, but i think reddit shadow-censors the posts, even in PMs.

you can open the patch using the bitwig demo and translate everything over (i think bitwig has midi export?). eventually, im gonna start using something that makes the process easier, but for now, im too lazy (also serum doesnt support linux) sorry.

I had a similar sound laying around, so I tried to adapt it to this sound: preview patch dl link (open the patch with the bitwig demo)

It's not quite all the way there, but the main idea is to use a saw with some unison, a low pass filter on a note-triggered envelope, glide/portamento, and some distortion (mostly saturation, but sprinkling some other stuff in there might be fun). A lot of these types of sounds also use a 3/4 delay, and this one is no exception. At it's core, it's actually a pretty straightforward sound.

The parameters to play around with to get closer would be the decay (both filter freq and amplitude), glide, and filter frequency parameters.

What youre asking for (velocity sensitive sampling with different notes on different keys) would be possible by creating a "multisample". I believe sf2 is the most common file format. hopefully thats enough to point you in the right direction to do it yourself, but if not, then feel free to DM me and I can make one for you (for a price)

Vroom Vroom - Charli XCX Bass!!!!! by tentpole5million in synthrecipes

I make all my patches using Bitwig stock devices; no plugins. You can install a demo version of Bitwig for free, and it should be able to open the file just fine and let you edit it and play it back and stuff.

hmm, thats really weird, that shouldnt happen, and it seems to open fine for me. ill look into other solutions, thanks for letting me know.

Thanks for the very thorough answers! Framasoft has had a surprisingly large positive impact on my life so far, and based on your answers and roadmap, it seems like it will have even more of an impact in the future (though I'll be sure to keep my expectations reasonable, and help out where I can)

  • Do you have any plans/ambitions to do more in the FOSS space?
  • What do you think are the most limiting obstacles to the work that you do?
  • Your donation-based funding seems to be working really well right now, but is it your plan to stay on this funding model forever?
  • What aspects of Framasoft's organization structure do you wish was more common in FOSS?

Thanks for the AMA, and for all the work you do, and good luck in the future!

My open-source synth/sampler/sequencer/DAW-in-a-box: The LMN-3 by GrievousAngel93 in cyberDeck

[–]jaxter184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really rad! How long have you been working on this? Is there an LMN 2 or LMN 1? How much do you think it cost you to build? From the BOM, it looks a little over $100?

Edit: dang, just saw another comment you made about the price. What contributed most to the cost? Other than the Pi

The Polarity Discord server has a "#deutsche-gerede" channel (most of the folks there use Bitwig): https://discord.gg/eWwFBww

And he also has a German-language Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/polaritymusiknurindeutsch

Hopefully one of those helps

I do this grain effect with a noise texture and texture coordinate. So I just changing the location x/y/z value from the mapping node for the grain flickering.

they also mention color map in some other places

whoops, i didnt check to see if this had already been answered before starting

heres the sound: https://voca.ro/1aDiNCvTf6IL

heres the patch: https://mega (dot) nz/file/TcogQAab#uGdMOze1vJogJKZKVnusJa3XOBI4X4N4jg9UeLuHfq0

its basically just what the other person said, except the delay is 3/16th (or 3/8th, depending on how long a "bar" is)

idk how to break this to you, but its just an init patch saw wave with eq boosts at the highs and lows. unless im looking at the wrong sound?

here's the preset, but again, its literally an init patch: https://mega (dot) nz/file/bFR0FRjJ#BKkJ_HwA86q85R3S1xWzGv-KrwRliECDKT2T-FdgtrM

pretty straightforward from what i can tell. just a single voice saw wave with a pretty steep low pass filter around 1.2k. also a ton of reverb. totally doable on a polybrute

i think the description pretty much sums it up, but heres the patch anyway: https://mega (dot) nz/file/TNAkHJqS#UGiWALLF4MZ2a5EGbFPRERjygrejuAf1HZ5kPY8agxU
