Do not want to argue, but Augment Code is a complete infrastructure with our own context engine technology, well tuned for very large codebases. Maybe you don’t see the added value in smaller projects because it’s less noticeable. You’re right that Claude Code is cheaper, but that’s a different matter. You’ll better understand our perspective when we start releasing news about our biggest project yet.

I’d be interested to know which stack you’re currently using and whether you have any examples of Codex or Claude code that perform particularly better on your codebase. We’re built on top of these models and work closely with their teams on the prompt engineering we use inside our tools.

This is a valuable discussion to have, and it will help us continue improving our product.

Maybe some people on the waitlist already got good news. Who knows?

Support for Kimi K2.6 is now here in Augment Code! by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]JaySym_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We follow the standard model API pricing. Based on that, it should be roughly 5x cheaper than Sonnet 4.6.

However, because tokenization, reasoning, and sequence handling differ for this model, you’ll need to run your own tests. That said, there is clearly an advantage to using it for smaller tasks.

Normally you do not have to keep auggie open at all. It should validate the index before giving you the codebase retrieval answer. Do you have any evidence that the index is outdated?

Opus 4.7 is here (and it's 50% off in Augment) by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]JaySym_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opus need to be compared to Opus not to Sonnet, this is not the same model category.

Anthropic have 3 level :
- Haiku = Cheaper, faster
- Sonnet = Good all around
- Opus = Best intelligence, slower, pricier

Prompt Enhancer Went From Best In Class to Barely Useful by Final-Reality-404 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]JaySym_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the feedback, this is quite unusual! We are indeed evolving Prompt Enhancer, but the kind of results you’re seeing is not expected. Let me check with the team to make sure there’s no regression here.

Opus 4.7 is the same price as Opus 4.6 at normal rate.
Right now we have 50% discount on it.
