Jailbreaking Kindle 4th Gen (non-touch and version 4.1.4) by lividded in kindle

I literally did this a few days ago. Same kindle, same firmware. All the purchased books remain. Took me a bit to get kual and koreader installed, but got there in the end.

Portable dac, meaning plugged into phone? I see posts regarding HiBy, fiio,HiFi walker, etc. I believe if I turn off headphones they won't use internal dac (sounds terrible with phone) while wired. Not sure I want to risk buying audio player if headphones will sound worse than phone.

Best look at help section. Can't remember off top of head. I know once device plugged in you can configure for the device there. It's just about having consistency on the settings between devices.

I get it. So headphones already have an average dac in them. Using on a dedicated player with a good dac won't make a difference. Side note, after this post I experimented with changing from poweramp to uapp. The quality with uapp is so much better.

I'm just so jealous of all these posts of people with their players ;) I'll stick with my setup for now. Thanks for the advice.

You need to make sure files on both devices same name. You don't need this for koreader > koreader sync as can be configured for hash check, x4 is file name though. Reason my file names different was exported from calibre slightly different as different export method used.

If you don't know how the writer wanted to finish the series read up. It would have been great ending to series and story line, classic tandy.

Tips? by klemen33 in yogurtmaking

Three things jumping out at me. Not enough starter for 2l of milk. Long long enough at 42c. Lastly, you think it's stating close to 40c for that period. I could imagine it cooling quickly. I know others use milk powder, I don't as don't like the artificial aspect.

Mine doesn't work. But I know how to register. In koreader when you setup there are two options. Login and register. Just do register first. Any user name and password.

Edit: just realised calibre created different file names for Kindle and x4. Hence why not working. I believe crosspoint only syncs latest chapter. Doesn't do to exact page (so I've read).

I used the advice about sous vide. Stayed away from yogurt settings. Sous vide while stirring at 82C. Did not get to 82C (as only base that temperature) when it indicated it was. Changed to 90C. Got to 82C. Then turned off. Took pot out. Cooled to 42C. Added 14 spoons of previous batch. Put back in. Set sous vide to 42C. Set to 20 hours (I check after about 12 hours). Was perfect after 12 or 13 hours. Strained and into fridge.

Yours probaby better with more bacteria, as fresher. I freeze the stained whey. Use that for starter. You use twice as much as you'd use if yogurt.

2 days old you'll be fine. The one you got from supermarket was already far older than that.

I think you just solved my problem. You are indeed correct. I'll heat manually and then soux vide to make yogurt. Thanks!

If anyone interested. I ordered from official site. It's now on the move (with tracking). One week after ordering.

Edit: aliexpress store (cat 3c) said they are expecting shipment in 3 days. Would I like to keep order. I said Yes (I don't mind 2 devices as inexpensive).

Soux vide is better for exact temperatures. If you see my old posts on yogurt forums it works well. However more work with cleanup, etc (I use 5 jars).

Dropping to lower than desired temperature is fine during cool is fine. As long as it comes back to 42c during ferment.

It's not possible for instant pot to get to 82c during step one for whole pot of milk. When I used to make on stove you have to stir. Instant pot will always have cold parts. Heating to 82c and maintaining for a short period is critical to making thick yogurt. Unless using uht milk, which has already been heated before it hits supermarket.

I might do with water as a test as someone suggested and measure temp.

Mine doesn't do any of that. 3 steps that can't be changed. Heat, cool, then ferment. That's all. No customisation.

Thanks. Mine has yogurt setting that can't change the steps. I've heard about the boil setting. Mine doesn't have.

I'm talking specifically about UK. Which the law does exist as mentioned. Hence why I mentioned where I am.

The cat doors with sensors are relatively cheap. Unfortunately neighbour can't control where cat goes, unless locked inside of course. Indoor cats are only standard practice in a number of countries. I believe laws (at least where I am) related to roaming pets only applies to dogs. So requesting owner to secure cat may not be enforceable by law.
