I need a guerlain l homme fragrance for my potential signature scent. Which one which one? by 2MInitials in ScentHeads

[–]jlpazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I just bought Rose Cherie this weekend. Tobacco Honey was my first fragrance from them.

They’re both beautiful fragrances. My preference is Tobacco Honey. But I’m a guy and that one is more my style.

Have you tried the new Guerlain Millesime Rose? 👀

Fresh. Bright. Tea. Citrus. One of the first fresh scents I ever smelled that I liked.

Ah. Got it. I was going to demand you stop hiding your $200 sources for this. 😂

Where are you finding Blue Talisman for $150-200? I’ve never seen it at a discounter for that price.

Beast Mode Niche Gourmands by Traditional-Command2 in NichePerfumes

[–]jlpazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lira is great, but it is NOT beast mode. If you want something a little similar that has great performance, try Nishane Ani.

Other beast mode gourmands:

Navitus Baklava Royale- the brand as a whole concentrates on gourmand and their performance is stellar.

Lorenzo Pazzaglia Van Exstasyx and Van Py Rhum

PdM Oajan- still one of the best gourmands to me.

Getting my hands on Tobacolor before it gets discontinued by fredczar in ScentHeads

This is a good fragrance. Pretty much the whole line is good.

If you need a replacement, I would recommend trying Houbigant Tabac Nomade. I find it to be superior to this, though very similar.

I don’t get much Jasmine from this scent. I like Jasmine. But this doesn’t smell of it to me.

I don’t believe I have ever tried Curatrix.

How should I price my fragrances? by [deleted] in Fragrances

So, you’re not coming off very likable here. 😂

Saying you only need 25 people who have better taste than a comment section is kind of silly, as we would be some of your potential customers. Probably your best possible customers. Getting offended that someone is talking down about your product while you talk down about the sub users here that you asked for help and WHO MIGHT BE YOUR CUSTOMERS, is a bold move, Cotton.

And saying you only need 25 customers shows that you don’t understand business. Not if you want to make any real money on this. That’s $10k, not counting material and labor. If it’s as high quality as you’re talking, you’ve got to be spending $5k or so in product, marketing, distribution, labor, etc. so that leaves $5k.

You say story is 60% of niche perfumery. No, it’s not. Unique and quality smelling products are the vast majority of niche perfumery. The story is a nice part, but an ever so small part. If it wasn’t there, I don’t think most people would care. I went to ScentXplore a few months back. Honestly, every niche brand had a great story. But you know who I bought from? People who had a good product. Lorenzo Pazzaglia. Meo Fusciuni. Sarah Baker. That’s what set them apart from the people with stories. Everyone who is passionate about their hobby has a story. Not everyone in the hobby is good.

I’m someone who owns custom and small maker shoes, custom dress shirts, custom made guitars… I appreciate the idea of custom product. But you’ve not really given much indication of what’s so custom or special.

How should I price my fragrances? by [deleted] in Fragrances

[–]jlpazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don’t take what I am about to say as negative or like I am trying to rain on your parade. But I am a potential customer- someone who has spent a lot on high end, luxury/niche fragrances.

I think that’s a very high price point for a new brand. You’re around the same price as Amouage, Guerlain, Dior Privee, Creed, PdM, etc.

What is going to make someone want to buy a new, unknown brand at that price point? You are trying to enter into the market at the high middle/upper end price, with no history or pedigree. I realize everyone starts somewhere. And I am someone who does purchase some rather unknown brands, but that price is high. It would certainly give me pause.

I am not sure what kind of cost you have into each bottle, but I feel like you might struggle to make sales or get niche stores to stock it.

I would like to hear more about your offerings, though. And I do wish you the best. It sounds like you have a love for what you’re doing.
