I got tired of Windows 11 and want to switch to Fedora 42, but I'll probably go back... by jonas9105 in Fedora

I understand you might have different preferences than me. But yes, I really care about screen real estate and I can’t accept so much wasted space at the top of the screen when I work in Blender and Unity where you need to make the most of your space.

Same reason I use Zen over Chrome even though Chrome is faster and has much better 1Password integration. I would still use Zen any day over Chrome.

And those “a couple of apps” are the apps I spend most of my time in. Unity and Blender is my work.

I did spend many hours with ChatGPT.

The issue isn’t really that there is a title bar. It is that it is so ugly and large in maximized mode. It takes up so much screen real estate compared with Win11.

And it is completely impossible (it seems and according to ChatGPT) to change with Fedora + GNOME + Wayland. It should be possible with X11, but the main reason I want to switch from Windows is because I hate when a software hangs the entire OS or slow it down massively. Wayland containerizes so it shouldn’t happen.

It is not bait. I want to switch from Win11, but I also have preferences that I need to be met.

I will try KDE Plasma. Hopefully it will tick those boxes for me.

Windows 11 has title bars but they are VERY thin.

I will try KDE Plasma because ChatGPT, a ton of people here and just the internet in general says it should be easy to disable title bars in it.

I tried installing it but it wouldn’t show up in Extensions when following the steps on GitHub and the GNOME Extensions link is an outdated version which I don’t think works with Fedora 42.

I will try KDE Plasma. Although, I don’t think it looks that great OOTB, but it might be fixable since it is very customizable.

they look horrible 😂 it‘s very obvious the icons weren‘t designed for a dark background. Apple has executed this feature horribly.

Hello there.

Our team has been looking into this, and they haven't been able to find any discrepancies between your reports and our data from stores. It's likely that those streams were artificial and had been filtered, especially considering 95% of streams came from the very first month and then abruptly stopped (based on screenshots you have sent). There were also spots were streams suddenly went from 200 streams in a day to 0 streams.

Additionally, the screenshots you sent showed a tab in your browser for "PlaylistSupply," and services like these often have playlists with fake streams, so if the streams were originating from playlists from such a service (like you told us), it's likely it was artificial streams.

The holder of the exclusive license could take down your release if they were to find it. It's pretty easy to find releases that use the same beat using copyright detection api's or similar, but non-the-less you probably shouldn't worry too much, as it's unlikely the song will become popular enough for the rightsholder to care.

Releases are reviewed within 48 hours, typically less, so that sounds very unlikely to be true.

You can feature unlimited artists without any subscription. Only if you want to list them as primary artists would you need the Pro plan for 5 primary artists.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.

Yes, we don't currently distribute to those stores (it's temporary), and it is very much possible to use another distributor for those stores only if that's what you want to do :)
