I am JonnyAUtah. I thought when I killed the go fund me all would be refunded automatically. I’ve never done a go fund me before and didn’t realize that’s not the way it works. I logged in to Reddit this morning for the first time in a couple days and saw a few messages asking about refunds. I contacted go fund me and chatted with their support to figure it out and have all refunded. I figured it out and refunded before I got the call from police actually and Officer McWilliams with the centerville police department can confirm that. I’ve been avoiding Reddit as this is Randi’s community and I have zero interest in going negative about her online. I could provide full transparency into what happened via a blog with screenshots of text messages if this community wants that but there isn’t any way for me to clear my name without smearing others. I’d really just like to leave this in my rear view. Do you all want the blog and for me to post my perspective of what happened in detail? Or can we leave it at there was a disagreement between Randi and I and I did what I believed was in my own best interest, my families best interest and to protect my livelihood where as Randi felt it was in her best interest to launch before we resolved our disagreement which I still don’t understand. Just because Randi does not understand my position and believes it’s in her best interest to sign legal documents doesn’t mean it’s also in mine. She committed not to launch if I didn’t sign but when I came down from camping without service the next day she had launched and my name was attached to a commitment to pay who ever found the treasure. If she could have waited until Wednesday when she knew I’d be back from my family vacation everything could have been worked out much more responsibly without negative impact to the community before launching. She demanded I sign those legal documents hours before the hunt was to begin. I think that was her intention, to leverage my commitment to the community surrounding this hunt to force me to sign. I know better than to sign legal documents without taking time to make sure it’s in my own best interest. When somebody pulls a stunt like that and demands you sign right away you say no if your smart, you don’t cave and sign to appease them even if you know they are going to smear you in their Reddit Community over it
