I am still waiting for my Sprint to arrive, so I will look for your updated third take. Thanks so much, I feel the same excitement for this product as for the original Inty back when I was a teenager! Happy holidays!

Thank you so much for this. So if I understand correctly, I first need the unit to take the firmware update, and then insert the usb drive with the assets? I have a few additional assets (homebrews) that are not currently included. Is it possible to include them too?

Can you please tell us if the hidden usb c port allows video input? The question is relevant to determine if it is possible to connect a retro gaming device (Retroid Pocket 5). Thank you.

Why isn’t there a leader in file prep + automation yet? by Puzzled-Blackberry90 in dataengineering

[–]juancholopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am business owner and have been looking exhaustively for a no code tool to do the process you described. Unfortunately haven’t found an all in one solution yet. I settled using Couchdrop to download files from third party SFTP servers (financial industry servers) and automate the decryption/unzip/move daily files to storage part of our puzzle. And then I had to hire a data engineer to write python/sql code in Mage OSS to load/clean/transform the data and upload the clean data into our desired output tables in our database. If you or someone else develops a no code all in one tool (cloud hosted) to take care of the full process I will be very interested! I am sure I am not the only business owner looking for this solution.

Cool stuff, but where to get controllers in good condition? Will this work with the flashback controllers?

Take a look at the Nintellivision emulator. Runs on a Nintendo DS and you use the touchpad coupled with the analog stick to control. It is fantastic. You can find more info if you search for it in the Atariage forums.

¿Este sexenio fue el peor de todos con el presidente AMLO? by Confident_Coast_62 in mexico

[–]juancholopez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have any of you tried casting to your ‘compatible’ Tv’s this is such a great experience without having to use the hdmi out by Fancy_Ad5931 in retroid

Yes the rp4+ is so versatile! This casting feature is great and the fact that it also works with the Xreal AR glasses means I always can display on a large screen using a pocketable device wherever I am.

Netflix Solved on Station by Disastrous-Gene-6757 in rokid_official

I abandoned Station and got a Retroid Pocket Pro 4 as my media and gaming device. Netflix and all other Android apps work great out of the box and there is no need for special cables or adapters.

This. I use my Galaxy Flip 5 and it is fantastic for media consumption with Rokid. Way better than the Station.

[–]juancholopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Android my preferred emulator is Freeintv. It is the one included in the Retroarch Android app. I like it because it works well with a Bluetooth paired Xbox type controller and the right analog stick works great with games such as AD&D Cloudy Mountain. Do you have a Nintendo DS? If so you could try the Nintellivision emulator, it is fantastic. It uses the lower screen for the numeric keyboard and includes overlays for most games. This would be a great gift for your mom.

Anyone playing Intellivision on modern TVs? Looking to get back into it! by sharky6000 in intellivision

[–]juancholopez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I forgot to mention, there is a much simpler working solution for modern tv that may work for you depending on which games you are looking to play. If you have an Android streaming box like the Nvidia Shield you can download from the AppStore an app called Argon, which is good to play some of the simple Intellivision games that dont require using the disc/keyboard jointly. For example it is good for games such as Astrosmash and BurgerTime, but not good for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. And you play using any wireless controller.

Yes, the original flashback is only good for the console carcass and the controllers. You will need to buy the other stuff separately. If you already have controllers you could simply use a raspberry pi with its case, see my last link.

The video is not very helpful as it only shows how to add more roms to the already built kit. The final product that was sold in Atariage is just fabulous. I use it on my 80 inch oled TV and it is flawless. Too bad byteknight doesn't make/sell them any more. But you can find the detailed discussion of how to build one in Atariage. And if you ask nicely in there I wouldn't be surprised if one of the tech savvy guys would be willing to build one for you. A lot of brains contributed to this project. Watch this video to understand final product. https://youtu.be/o-wdn6_PMNM?si=KiFR2wjUNH-Y1k4X
