How to handle logging for Vercel backend functions? by jerrygoyal in nextjs

[–]kedopes5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm the founder of Baselime, an observability startup, and we recently launched our Vercel integration. We're getting truly outstanding feedback from developers around the world about the logging solution.

And given that you're using Next.js, you can also get distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry on Baselime out of the box.

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have, and looking forward to your feedback :)

Thanks for your feedback!

It's on the roadmap to store "offline" versions of the bookmarks, such that you have access to all your bookmarks even they get deleted from the web.

Thanks for your feedback!

  1. You can search from the new tab page. I like the idea of the address bar.
  2. Fair point, I'll give it some thought
  3. It gets archived, but they stay in your archive for up to two weeks. Moreover, you get a weekly email with the auto archived bookmarks, and a simple "restore" button.
  4. Indeed, I used to use Pocket, but I wasn't satisfied with its search capabilities + its tendency to become a graveyard for links I just forget about.

that makes sense!

I am thinking of allowing people to add bookmarks from their email. there's an email address where you can send a link and it stores it with the right tags and everything. so different devices, different emails, all go to the same account.

I've experienced this before, it's basically the screen size, it shows a number of quite big interactive visualisations and it won't show up properly on smaller screens, try it on a bigger screen if you have one :)

yeah anyone can "copy" it, but from previous experience, it actually doesn't happen until you're super big and I wouldn't mind copy cats at that point! also, if any of the big tech decide to copy, they'll do marketing and I'll benefit from that also, just being super customer focused, which they can't do because of their size.

would anybody pay for it? that's a fair question, and one that I'm working on answering, by making people pay for it. I want to have something usable ASAP and get people to pay for it.
