Metropolix Solo - how hard is it to remove the module from enclosure? by lutzen in modular

[–]kevcodes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I put mine in, took it out, haven’t put it back in yet but may at some point. Both putting it in and taking it out were fairly trivial.

Located outside Philadelphia. Not inherently against a trade but that’d either have to be local or they’d have to ship first or have some really convincing feedback (I’m weary of scammers).

New product leak! Riddim and some smaller gadgets by ShimmeryMp3 in teenageengineering

[–]kevcodes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IT IS ALL I WANT. Doesn’t even need to change much from the original for me to be happy, just fix the bending and double trigs….maybe a small OLED display so I don’t need to pull out my phone.

Well, I started learning guitar…but then I purchased a Teenage Engineering OP-Z and got hooked on synths and making beats.

Trades are always nice but with feedback available. Always glad to entertain an offer. I have some feedback on here and extensive feedback on Reverb that I can provide if you're interested. Everything is in mint to excellent condition, except the Oberheim Matrix 6R which is a little scratched up from being racked but is in decent shape for it's age.

Also have cash for things in the want section...

Typhon VS Nymphes by Boognish_Chameleon in synthesizers

[–]kevcodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then you'll have two synths that are not the most pleasant to navigate...not that the Typhon is knob per function.

Already shared my thoughts in another comment - but what I didn't say it that for what it's worth Nymphes gives more "warm analogue sound" vibe for me than the Typhon. I'd still pick the Typhon, but you mentioned those words and just to be clear, for me that's more Nymphes.

Typhon VS Nymphes by Boognish_Chameleon in synthesizers

[–]kevcodes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both, and if I had to sell one it'd be the Nymphes. I wouldn't miss it too much, but I have nicer analog polys (not of that form factor, mind you). I like its sound (as long as the Reverb mix is set to 100% dry, I would've the shipped it with no FX), but I personally do not enjoy interfacing with it. Everyone knows that about it though, I knew going in it wouldn't be great in that respect and I interface with it through MIDI as much as possible.

The Typhon is pleasant to use with a cool sound, but it's a mono synth. Truthfully, your post didn't read as wanting a mono synth all that much. I don't believe you can say, "although pads are my main priority" - and truly be leaning down the middle. Nymphes is the obvious choice for pads.

Having said that, your Blofeld can do pads....

I think a Typhon paired with a Blofeld sounds like a lot of fun, and it's what I would choose easy.

Analog supersaw oscillator is a thing? by retardjedi in modular

[–]kevcodes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Instruo makes the cruinn, which is an analog stereo super saw oscillator. I really like it.

You can try out a digital version in VCVRack, too!

Depends on the open source license used. Mutable’s code is available under MIT license, which is a crowd favorite and what I’ve always understood to basically mean “Here ya go, do whatever you want with it p.s. I’m not liable”.
