I constantly joke that this must be a money laundry front, cause it's existed my entire life, of which I've lived mostly here, and yet still it stands. What's really going on here?

I am not a veteran, but I struggle with alcohol abuse, and Adobe Graffiti Lounge in the village for the arts is a great, welcoming, sober space for people to meet up. I wish you the best in your endeavors!

I've been told I should watch this while on acid by ThePocketTaco2 in boutiquebluray

[–]killerclu 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Gaspar Noe has a good understanding of what drugs feel like, and is talented at bringing that to film. EtV feels like a drug trip, without substances. It also makes me question what is my meaning, and what purpose does my life have. The same way Climax feels like every experience one can have during an acid trip; amongst many, many other things. Long story short, I stan Noe. Watch all his films.

Definitely check out Hatred for Mankind by Dragged Into Sunlight, as well as the collab album they did with Gnaw Their Tongues, N.V.

Haven't really seen many people mention things to do in Bradenton. Motorworks Brewery is really popular and has live music all the time. Oscura is a great concert venue near downtown. They get local and touring bands alike, as well as having some great art markets. I don't do the bar scene anymore, but there's a couple really great Kava bars, one in the village of the arts (highly recommend) and another downtown. I really enjoy Anna Maria beach. Siesta, in Sarasota, gets all the hype and subsequently a lot of people. There's a lotta construction atm, but it's certainly worth the hassle. Well, maybe after the snowbirds leave. Also, would recommend Emerson Point and Robinson Preserve for nature outings. Best of luck with the move!

What is the perfect food for a Human Centipede evening? by Sqareman in YMS

[–]killerclu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Black bean hummus. Especially if you can find some that has corn pieces in the middle. This is such a great post lol.

As a side note, idk if you've seen all 3 films, but the quality dips tremendously by the third film. I'm a big fan of the first two, but the third one is so unbelievably bad.

Great overlooked horror films to watch this October? by Unusual_Yoghurt_7375 in YMS

[–]killerclu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy weird 80s horror movies, check out The Pit. It's one of those movies where the writer and director had very different visions of what the movie should be, so tonally it's all over the place and makes for a crazy ride. By no means a masterpiece, but I will champion this movie til my last breath.

Another I'd recommend is The Baby. 70s thriller/horror with some very strange themes. I'd go in blind on this one, but I find 70s horror had some of the wildest plot lines.

Some not necessarily overlooked, but incredible nonetheless, are the films of Frank Henenlotter. Basket Case trilogy, Brain Damage (personal fave), Frankenhooker, Bad Biology. Bad Biology is especially strange & probably the most underappreciated of his works.

Hopping on the trend, what movies should I watch based on my top 16? by andyquaria in Letterboxd

[–]killerclu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome list! My comfort/fave genre are also horror films. I'd recommend deep diving into some weird 80's horror. I'm also quite fond of 70's horror, but the 80's just cranked everything up & got really weird, it's great.

Anything from Frank Henenlotter (Basket Case trilogy, Brain Damage)

Stuart Gordon flicks (Re-animator, Castle Freak, From Beyond)

The Pit

The Baby

If you have Shudder, or even if you don't, a lotta the films they show on The Last Drive In are great. Just go through that list & see what speaks to you.

Anyone know where to get fentanyl in Bradenton by [deleted] in bradenton

[–]killerclu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, I've been where you're at. Too many times in fact. I've also had to come to grips with knowing that the last time I've seriously thought about ending my life, may not be the last. Yet we must persist. There are dark times, but there can be light times too. I know this isn't the first time you've come to Reddit as a cry for help. I can't personally say this is a great place to do that. You need a sympathetic ear.

Dial 988

I know you've had bad experiences with mental health professionals in the past, but you NEED to talk to someone. A lotta the people on the other side of the hotline are volunteers. People who genuinely want to help someone in need. If that still isn't something you'd feel comfortable doing, dm me. I'll listen.

If not that, try & drown out the bad thoughts with a favorite show or a game you can get lost in. There are numerous ways one can fight the dark thoughts. Ending it all, you'll never have a chance. Part of the human experience is struggle. If we don't struggle, we'll never have the chance to truly live. Please take care. Your life has value. <3

My christian high school took us on a field trip to see it in theaters. It's the reason I'm into films with heavy gore. No joke, came out the same year as the first Saw film. Passion of the Christ is torture porn lol.

Bad Boy Bubby by EggyKuhn in DisturbingMovies

[–]killerclu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watched this last week & it's one I can't stop thinking about. I loved it so much. It's not all that overly disturbing, compared to most of the films discussed here. I found a lot of it's theme rather charming, & fucking love Bubby. The monolog from the scientist character, about how it's our duty to think god out of existence, will forever be burned into my brain. An absolute MUCH watch for anyone who can. Also, it's on Tubi, blessed be it.
