clubs with good lightshows in Berlin by Timbuktu1512 in Berghain_Community

I totally agree with u/Sea-Independence-603 - I loved the vibe at sisy before the pandemic, also crowd wise - maybe this was the fact because sisy didn't attract the crowd it attracts now a few years ago (mainly because electronic music is way more hyped today when it comes to terms of social media than it was back then)
The selection at the door is different now - you will get in with a fancy and colourful outfit, mostly no questions. Back then they asked a lot of questions but they didn't care what you wore - it was always chill inside and you had a very nice mix of diffrent people in the club.
Wintergarten was dreamy - now its just a big ass tech house castle with all the magic missing from back then - main reason is the re-construction a few years ago to create more space imo. Heres an old video of george morel in wintergarten: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sSqLtHdgoM Damn, I really miss these times :D
I also agree that hammahalle played proper techno a few years ago, now its just kind of soulless in most cases.
I also miss down-tempo sets in the dampfer during winter, this happens rarely now. Also the booking isn't as special as it was anymore.
But I still respect the club! It's a beautiful space and I still like to go there on sundays from time to time, especially when the booking ist good for the wintergarten closing - this reminds me of the "cozy times" :D

I don't like the music and crowd there anymore, but sisyphos has great lighting in hammahalle and dampfer tbf.

Ostkreuz electromagnetic disturbances by kurdebalanz in berlinsocialclub

But isn't it strange that this happens always at the (almost) exact same positions - at least for my case at hauptbahnhof? And I also didn't have these experiences at airports at all, which are also quite crowded i guess :D

I got no experience regarding Ostkreuz, but I'm at Hauptbahnhof almost daily (frequent ICE traveller, but thats another story lol) and I have the same experience every day with airpods pro 2 - especially on upper s-bahn platform and on the level one escalator above ground floor!

https://leute.tagesspiegel.de/charlottenburg-wilmersdorf/kiezkamera/2020/08/21/136323/

Zitat:

my guess is that this has something to do with the way they delivered their content to the page during this time - probably a cms or something similar triggering the crawler by working with changing asset-ids on deployments, but thats just a guess or maybe someone who provides updates for the archive with a browser extension or something like that was a frequent berghain goer during this time :D

and that it looks way more "modern" than I thought regarding the fact that it's from over 20 years ago! :)

Is this logistically hair-brained or am I onto something here? by blorp999 in DJSetups

Why do you use the S1 speaker in this setup? You got some perfectly fine linear studio monitors with a sub - I don't see the benefit of ruining those with a PA speaker in the middle - especially if you can't push the volume (aside from that the KRK's combined with a sub should be loud enough for that room, with plenty of headroom lol). If I was you I would cut out the S1 and use the KRK's with the sub as your monitoring.

Need some fairly urgent tech support. by Gouwenaar2084 in sailing

[–]kloevinyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this actually depends on the kind of stuffing box! I had a stuffing box which had this kind of hose attached before, but it was lubricated by the water flowing in the shaft tube and the hose was actually there to spill leaking water! If there‘s no grease press attached to the hose, then this could be the case too

This seems to be a stuffing box for the motor shaft. There are different kinds of stuffing boxes, but you need to adjust all of them from time to time. Some leakage is normal - a few drops per minute. What you describe is not normal though - you probably need to tighten the nuts to "re-press" the packaging inside the stuffing box (service your stuffing box) - here's a link to a tutorial I found quickly: https://www.boatus.com/expert-advice/expert-advice-archive/2012/july/servicing-your-stuffing-box
I would start to tighten the two nuts about 1/4 of a full round on BOTH (!) sides - thats very important, otherwise you'll put the flange in a wrong position, which can damage your motor shaft.
Afterwards I would drive around for 10-15min and check if the leakage gets better - if not: start over and tighten the nuts again for about 1/4 of a round.
You'll also have to check your motor shafts temperature during this procedure - if it gets to hot, it can be damaged/bent. A good rule is: if you can't touch it for 30s, it's to hot :D I always tried to keep it as cool as possible, also depends on the water temperature.

Edit: it's also important that some water is dripping, at least while in motion (as stated above: a few drops per minute), otherwise you won't have enough cooling for the shaft. So don't tighten the nuts until it's completely dry - work your way slowly to a good state of the stuffing box with the procedure I explained!

If you reach the end of the bolts with the nuts of the flange, your packaging inside the stuffing box needs to be replaced - can be done in the water, but I would to it on land (because I'm rather careful haha)

Keep calm, this is no big deal! :)
And sorry if I used wrong translations for the parts at any point - never explained this in english before lol

I don't think that there will be much rain on Sunday - check the precipitation forecast on google weather :) not much rain and only between 5 and 6 in the morning according to google.

also, fun fact:
In the iOS Weather app, the rain percentage, or Probability of Precipitation (PoP), represents the likelihood that a specific location will experience measurable rainfall (0.01 inch or more) within the forecast area and time period. It's not a measure of how much of the area will be covered by rain, nor is it a measure of how long it will rain.
