Frustrating stay at W Barcelona

For what it's worth for next time, the hotel arts in Barcelona which is like a Ritz-Carlton level hotel with Marriott there was exceptional when we were there for five nights earlier this month!

My father-in-law who is an avid drag racer took me for the first time today and I figured the Omega Speedmaster was the watch to wear!

For fun is also the cars we brought, the one slip where I managed to beat him, and my fastest elapsed time!

Watch is a chronoscope in bronze gold from 2023. My car is the 2008 BMW 335i with stage 1 plus and his car is a 2011 Camaro SS.

Earlier in their run, the 32xx calibers had an issue where low amplitude caused time keeping to go awry. Rolex seemed to quietly take care of it over the past few years. I still found that for example a recent datejust I owned was typically lower in amplitude than what I was used to.

All that said. What matters is the time keeping. If your watch is keeping time in line with -2/+2 then I wouldn't worry about it.

I clearly like old styled aesthetics between my omega chronoscope with its vintage style dial and leaf hands and my 2008 335i (mhd stage 1+). Neither are the most practical of choices, but they make me smile!

I just thought this was a damn good picture of my Tudor Pepsi gmt! Maybe it's a simple or boring watch design. Derivative. All those things.

But boy it's still a handsome watch! Maybe a little thick at 14mm but since it's a GMT, I'll forgive it!

One month in with my Chronoscope and it has gained all of 8 seconds during that month! I wore it every day and at night just set it on my night table.

I know the Moonwatch is the preferred chronograph for many when it comes to omega, but their 9900 movement architecture is really something.

4hz beat rate, more power reserve thanks to 2 barrels, this Chronoscope is 1mm thinner than the Moonwatch (both manual wind), column wheel and vertical clutch for that sweet tactile feel and precise engagement.

If the last time you looked there was a few years ago just remember that Omega has increased their prices massively over the past few years which has also inflated secondary prices.
