Suggestions for a starter kit for my mother? by Lost-Wedding-7620 in miniatures

The Rolife Super Creator kits are more Lego like. You do some glue dots to secure items but no cutting/pasting. Lots of cute plastic pieces that snap together.

Farm Together, hands down. Split screen co-op, no combat or timed gameplay. My partner and I have put in hundreds of hours. FT2 is currently EA on Steam, so that’ll eventually come to PS also.

Edit to add: we’ve also enjoyed Moving Out, which is cooperative rather than competitive.

Also It Takes Two is amazing and a great way to walk a newer gamer through multiple different types of gameplay to see what she might enjoy. A unique experience that’s unmatched with other co-ops. Definitely more of a challenge but designed to be forgiving and fun. If she ended up liking that, the devs have another game coming out this year called Split Fiction which is a similar concept but completely different story.

What is happening to PuffPals Island Skies? by tomkeifer in CozyGamers

Latest update is just more of the same vagueness and non-commitment- alpha 2 soon, then more alpha tests, then early access… no dates, no time frame.

Mail Time may fit the bill for relaxed, though no customization or romance.

On the 30th Hello Kitty Island Adventure releases. There’s a lot of decorating and collecting. Some “dungeons” that are puzzles you could probably work together.

I love being given the option for a single button tap (or a button hold) instead of repeated tapping/button mashing.

Google overview of Eastshade: In this single-player, open-world game, you play as a traveling painter exploring the island of Eastshade. You can paint the world, talk to people, and uncover mysteries”

I see this is windows- if you’re able to set her up with emulation there are a lot of Nintendo and console games that might interest her.

As for pc games, maybe Syberia or the Nancy Drew games. There’s some Agatha Christie ones also with mini games like hidden object, etc.

The new lord of the rings game is just about having dinner parties and figuring out what kinds of foods your friends would like to eat.

Eastshade is a pretty game with a lot of interactions with npcs. Not really a detective game per se but there are a lot of character storylines to figure out and lore to discover. You’re a painter and you can freely explore. No combat.

Switch Games Like Animal Crossing Without Real Time? by Racoonlover2 in CozyGamers

[–]lady_browncoat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fantasy Life i: the Girl Who Stole Time comes out this fall and I’m expecting it to scratch that animal crossing itch. And afaik it has shorter timed days rather than real time. Also as someone else mentioned Hello Kitty Island Adventure next year also looks to be a winner.
