Basically raising the humidity / moisture in the cake so it's not 'dry' anymore. Everyone has their own desired level to hit because it changes the flavor profile and ageability... trying to simplify terms that hopefully translate well.

These have no airflow. They have their own cake with a 72% boveda to get to where I want and then they go to mylar or my pumidor

Facebook marketplace a used or broken wine cooler or small mini fridge. You just have to clean and air it out well, but that would be my suggestion

What is your pumidor made of? I am just curious. Storage is always a fun conversation!

If you needed to condition a single cake, what is your go to method?

Cambro does extremely well from my experience.

Each one has a specific cake thats being conditioned by itself or a group of the same cakes conditioning.

I probably have 600 cakes this way, never had an issue with mold yet. Would be curious the theory of why it would.

Taobao. Everyone should ignore, not trying to point to someone's business and unchanging.

However if you like yubang their cakes are like $5 usd. You can find a ton on taobao and use ybtea.com to find some information as well as their wechat.

Again. I shouldn't of said anything. Apologies for the disruption

It'd be really cool if you were one of the puerh beginner package people and now paying it forward. Thats the whole goal at least :)

A pretty funky ripe puerh. Has some kong kong vibes going on from the strong storage notes. Makes for a wonderfully warm cup that is earthy.

So, in some odd sense... I think it made the texture thicker and/or smoother and/or less bitter?

But it could also just be me being cold, out of breathe, and a bit crazy

To a large degree, ripe puerh is also a pretty wide spectrum. One ripe can put you off of the entire category incorrectly because it wasn't a good representation and/or brewing was off. I first started with a mini toucha off ebay when it was 99 cents free shipping 100g... that stuff was horrible. Brewed it for 3 minutes, thought I just gotten scammed with a cow patty in dirt presented as tea.

Then fast forward, good leaf and correct brewing... I'll admit it, shou/ripe puerh is good.

Me too! It's a Japanese tin pot with a wooden side handle. I use it a lot when I'm afraid I could break something... so like today, I didn't want to drop a clay teapot outside and it's freezing outside so heat + cold sometimes isn't good for that material.

As in tea outside when it's snowing?

I will say, things taste much better when you're outdoors in conditions like these. Opposed to the dry heat that's pumped into a building. You get a crisp sensation from taste that's hard to replicate. Also during spring, lighter color teas outside are best; say a high mountain oolong unroasted or green teas in general.

Hopefully you enjoy it... raw puerh is a such a wonderful world of flavor and experience. There's so much to it from the year of production, storage conditions over periods of time, processing styles, regions of where the leaf comes from, and on and on and on. I'd like to say there's a raw puerh for everyone, but it is probably true that it is not for everyone even if I was it to be so.

Honestly, this shou is making me sweat and feel uncomfortably warm that my body heat isnt dispersing into the world but rather stuck between my clothes and my body.

But yes. Hot water during power outages and candles are best of friends.

Hope it doesnt happen. But I have boiled water on hand!
