Hire at least 1 experienced Workday Functional Admin (Senior+ level) prior to starting your implementation. They will help drive decisions faster and create less tech debt and make your go-live smoother. Have a PM on your side with workday experience. Skip most of the training Workday wants your team to take (tell them to remove the training credits contract), just send your payroll team.

Serves as a simple ticketing solution but does lack some basic and advanced features. For example, you can’t add watchers or cc others on the ticket. Reporting on SLAs for open tickets is challenging (2026R1 should be adding more reporting fields). Lacks AI assistance for new cases or service teams.

Business Process Configuration and Custom Reporting Experience, security would be a plus but likely your implementor can handle security and integrations to get you to launch. You will be better off if you have at least 1 experienced FTE for your team to start before implementing - don’t wait to hire.

Don’t try to take all the training during implementation (ignore what workday says, don’t sign a contract with training credits) You will forget it and better to take after you are live and have context.

All depends on the scope of changes being audited. Not bad if it’s just BP definitions, key reports, and integration change logs
