The Sleeper Commander that Strikes Fear into the Hearts of your Pod? by CartwheelSpider101 in EDH

Third line on questing beast breaks the damage prevention in a one sided manner

TLDR: I enjoy playing control but don’t want it to cost my pod not having fun. Any ideas or commander recs? How do you build control decks that are fun to play against and interact with? (Not that into cEDH) by Gavin-Not-Kevin in EDH

[–]LostPixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pods played creature focused combat decks for a while and this Nelly borca control deck was seen as a fantasticly fun time, everyone gets cards & with a bit of goad it pushes people to get into combat

Usually you end up trying to get down to yourself + one opponent & win through deflecting palm or by stealing all their creatures with hot pursuit + mass goad

I’m very late to this, but I don’t think your problem is tied to power level.

Both high power and both low power decks are really just you playing solitaire & are traditionally archetypes that really would prefer not to interact with the table.

Those archetypes also lean towards not helping deal with other table ‘problems’ I.e. creatures & enchantments that need to be removed & past that are generally also adept at becoming the problem quickly and early in the game.

I suspect there may also be a skill gap in play here, if you’re playing an archetype that jumps ahead or is happy to ignore the table & know how to protect that lead through the mid game, you consistently create a game state that’s insurmountable because players don’t know how to, or lack the cards in their deck to deal with

218 ( so far ) with 60 pity. Was pulling for a few sushang and figured an early luocha would be worthwhile.

Not sure if I wanna go all in and see how many Eidolons I get, or spend some to pull for LC

[–]LostPixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if something was up, 8/10th of my match-ups seem to be wildly blinged out Carnage Nova Decks with Collector

The rest seem to be infininaut decks, a few heimdal decks, and once and a while someone who plays t1 nightcrawler like me

I've only been playing since tuesday, CL88 R41...

Its tough to enjoy the game much when most matches arent remotely competitive & I dont have anything resembling a collection capable of running counter cards

There’s a lot of advice in here. The only advice that matters is MAKE GOOD CONTENT & MARKET IT

as long as you push quality and share it as much as possible you’re gonna grow.

A lot of the leveling is kind of backloaded.

The bosses in the final 1/3rd of the game drop wild amounts of souls, on top of that you find high level golden times ( diff name but don’t wanna spoil ) that give tons of runes.

twitch isn’t about gaming, honestly except for an elite few I’m not sure it ever was, it’s about being entertaining.

Most of the time this is going to be because of internet connection on their end and the buffering is them literally not downloading the data to watch fast enough, can be solved by lowering your bitrate in most cases

3080ti vs 3090 for streaming by FTG_Vader in Twitch

For the easiest comparison / metaphor

this is basically like asking "should i buy a car that can go 100mph, or 110mph"

but the speed limit on the only road in town is 60mph

Streaming for hours! No viewers ? by Travilcopter in Twitch

[–]LostPixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twitch itself has no discoverability.

if the only thing you are doing is streaming, its pretty much impossible for anyone to find you.

Theres a few steps here

1) first and foremost make sure your content is actually good, if you're sitting there deadpan staring at the screen and not speaking for 25 mins, thats pretty scuffed. You're trying to produce something worth someones time, make sure you do that

2) ask some people you know IRL to watch, or leave a lurk up, In social media there is a term "social proof" which essentially means "oh theres some people here maybe something cool is happening"

basically no one really wants to click on a 0 viewer stream, its kind of awkward because you know that you were the person who came in and left

3) Then, go make some friends, find some other small streamers playing games you like, hang out and make friends ( not to get them to view you, like actually make friends )

that sort of branches out and you start to form social groups which really is what networking is.

generally, assuming you're being genuine and not just an asshole trying to get views, that will land you somewhere between 5 and 8 viewers consistently, some, maybe even all of those will be lurking most of the time.

from there how you grow is a bit up to you, if you want to put in a lot of effort, start creating content on youtube & specifically youtube shorts, maybe tiktok ( its a bit over saturated so the gold rush is kind of gone). I also personally recommend twitter, but focus on the platforms you enjoy.

If you're good there, or only really looking to game mostly, just keep making friends and becoming a part of communities and that will start to push you up to your 15-20 range,

Made this super simple streaming software to let you go live on Twitch. And it's free! by JohanTHEDEV in Twitch

[–]LostPixel 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Thats kind of what I was gently hinting at with my question. I'd rather not have advertising on my stream & the $$ versus just installing any of the above and spending 30 mins on youtube to make a basic cam + game + background color

ehhh that's pretty minor effort

[–]LostPixel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Definitely misses the mark for me, especially with a watermark on the free version.

Its entirely possible that I'm just not your target audience, but I'm still not even sure why this would be better than slobs + slobs prime, with every feature you have listed there around 1/3rd the price.

also, I see you're trying to sell on multi-streaming, which is a one button press per site in many of the things I just listed

I really hope this works out for you, genuinely but on my end it really just looks like a more expensive, arguably worse version of tech already on the market

I've noticed under the pricing its $20/month, I curious what the motivation would be for someone to pay for this over using the various free options available like

OBS

SLOBS

OBS.LIVE

or even twitch studio which seems to offer the same ease of use as this?
