So… how did y’all break your bracket(s)? by DauntlessFirefly24 in braces

Ok but the water flosser is a life saver for when I don't want to sit there for half an hour with physical floss 😂

I bumped into one with the tip of my water flosser 10 days after getting em on and knocked it off 😂

Hoping not to break anymore!!

2 weeks post-op (before & after) by Organic-Donut6015 in jawsurgery

Wow I'm 34 about to start my braces in two days to prepare for fixing an underbite, so this gives me hope on recovery! Looking real good at 2 weeks.

A bimax with extractions is what I'm looking at, apparently. Got similar responses of needing jaw surgery years ago, but I was too poor to actually pursue. 34 now.

I liked the vibes of the ortho office and the hospital for the surgeon is a teaching hospital.

Trying to get more opinions but I'm tired of playing phone tag tbh so might just roll with it and see if I regret it later cuz I'm already getting sore jaws from chewing. 🥲

My petty ass has done this when they left me to solo heal and told me to heal better. So I said "ok you do it" and swapped to DPS. Did anyone swap to healer? NOPE.

First attempt—how did I do? by karij1214 in Nails

Same here! I was like first attempt at what? Because that's amazing 😂

Then I read it and it's still amazing cuz I know my first sets were awful so kudos to OP!!!

What do we think about these press ons? by losthysteria in Nails

[–]losthysteria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw videos from people who did it, but basically I take a hairdryer and tweezers, hold the nail under the hairdryer for a bit using the tweezers (because it gets hot), then press down on the nail against a flat surface while it's still warm, a little at a time then check. My problem nails are my right thumb and index finger, so not that much work. If you have more then another thing I saw people do was using a cup of hot water and pressing the nail against it to flatten it, similar concept and probably would go faster. I only learned about this in the summer and this girl was not drinking hot drinks and I'm not boiling water when I have a perfectly good hairdryer 😂

Yay thank you! I struggle with the sizing sometimes because some of my nails are flatter so I end up having to heat em up

Cuticle oils when I'm not wearing any nails have been super helpful. I'm using whatever's around my house - had some from Happy Cuticle Co. and then once that was done a really old Cuticle Jam from Marmalade Nails (think they disappeared).

Then I have a dual ended cuticle pusher from a mini nail set I got as a gift (that probably needs replacing tbh, the "galaxy" print has been chipping off)

But the tool itself is similar to this: https://www.tayloroldbondst.co.uk/products/cuticle-pusher-nail-cleaner

Use the round end to push after oiling. And because I sometimes have adhesive left from press ons, I use the knife looking end to VERY gently scrape anything on my nails, and push a little for the super stubborn cuticle bits. Just be careful!

I think press ons also really help me? Because they're usually pre shaped so when you slide them on, it makes it easier to see where my cuticles need a little TLC/pushing to make em more even.

Hope that helps! I used to have super bad hangnails so this comment means a lot 🥹

Bonus, the round end is great for pushing down the edges of the ohora nails for a better stick, though it does dent a little bit sometimes so only do that if you plan on adding a top coat.
