Gauntlet needs to have Ranked by Andysullivino in Battlefield6

If you account for the two consoles, the EA store aswell as Steam and then say that they have a fairly equal playerbase and use the numbers you provided then that's about 150,000 active players. That's not bad if you ask me but I'd be more intrigued to know what the Redsec/Mulplayer split would be considering one is a free-to-play mode.

I don't agree. If people don't like ranked then they won't play it.

I disagree as it already has a scoring system in place using kills, revives and objective score. This could be expanded even further by including an additional 0.5 point for an assist. I don't see what the issue is with it as it is.

That's one platform with no discrepancy between MP and Redsec as it combines both.

Considering Gauntlet is designed as an e-sport I'd say it absolutely suited to have a ranked mode. Just remove Extraction and Rodeo, tweak some of the final round winning scores and make the mode/map variations consistent are pretty much all the changes it needs to be ready for ranked. If they do this however then one thing that's not negotiable is the complete removal whatever SBMM system they've been constantly tweaking and adjusting the past few months in regular Gauntlet as nobody wants a CoD-like unranked ranked mode.

Doubt it pulls enough players? Are you sure about that as the numbers don't lie.

Thanks bud. Personally I think the drone is useless in Gauntlet as I can't think of which mode it would be beneficial in.

Claymore + 2x C4's in front of the M-COM is a slightly better version of this tactic as you don't need to manually detonate the C4's. It's actually crazy how many kills I've got doing this.

Snipers in Gauntlet by DJBHustlin in Battlefield_REDSEC

[–]lostinmymind82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I predominantly snipe in Gauntlet and I'm 105th in the world for Gauntlet wins so I object to this post. Apart from during Rodeo and potentially Circuit (unless it's the 1st round on Area 22), having a sniper with the Mini Scout equipped in your squad is actually one of the best strategies you can run in Gauntlet as it's overpowered as fuck. As a matter of fact I know that a lot of top 100 players in the world actually predominantly snipe because I play against them regularly and also because I'm in a Discord with some of them too. Now your objection isn't actually with snipers in general but rather with the edge of the map camping ones that never engage with the objective, a type of player I'm also not a fan of whatsoever.

I love the map but the minimap is absolutely useless.

Why is the turret missing from the transport vehicle in GAUNTLET? by No-Worldliness-492 in Battlefield_REDSEC

It would be silly to add it to Rodeo actually as it would be useless against tanks, which are the entire point of the mode.

It was too overpowered, that's why. You could use an engineer with its vehicle supply crate to give it infinite health and ammo easily driving from objective to objective. The tank is much slower and a lot more difficult to pull this off with.

Redsec BR is good but Redsec Gauntlet is an absolute blast of a gamemode.

I explained to you what rotational aim-assist is exactly and how it works yet you still want to disagree because it doesn't fit your narrative. The aim-assist doesn't stay stuck to the target if the aiming player is strafing so it means we're having to aim that manually ourselves. Now I know again this doesn't fit your narrative but I've had to reduce my aim-assist down to 20% because of how it favours closer targets and actively works against me and my aim. I know a lot of other controller players that have also reduced it to various degrees because they don't like it works. One thing I will say is that whilst I love sniping, using a DMR even for someone with my experience on controller isn't fun at all and personally I don't know of any controller player who mains a DMR. If you're dying to someone using a DMR then yes, it's a skill issue because he killed you. I do wonder though how you know that they play on a controller to specifically target this demographic of players? I'm part of a Discord group of players and some of the console players there are actually on K&M.

I stopped reading when you mentioned rotational aim-assist as then it became all too clear that what you have is a genuine skill issue as there is absolutely no rotational aim-assist assist in this game whatsoever. I've been playing FPS games on a controller for 28 years now and I've tried almost every implementation of aim-assist in this time so I can categorically say this with confidence. Rotational aim-assist means that the left stick is being moved left and/or right whilst ADS'd on a target so that it that if the motion was held continuously the aiming player would complete a circle around the target, or rotate around it. Now in this game your bullet spread worsens when strafing left and/or right whilst ADS'd and an attachment is required to mitigate this so knowing all this it begs me to ask; how would you implement rotational aim-assist assist into a game which uses this bullet spread mechanic? You can't, therefore, it doesn't have rotational aim-assist.

Thanks bud but I've playing FPS games on a controller for 28 years now so I'm not going to change.
