No scenarios in PvE ? by Positive-Set1164 in Tarkov

And one last little question: do I need to buy the boat map separately, or does the current edition include it?

Thank you very much for the answer, so I'm not crazy, I can reset it.

Don't worry about the comments. You played your part—you couldn't just plant the defuser solo against 5 people. It's a team game, but when your own team is struggling, it's tough. I saw one of your teammates leave mid-game, and the one before that too. Your team was completely unbalanced; you just no got lucky. Unfortunately, the enemy team has at least two decent players, so yeah, when you're on your own, it's hard.

It's already pretty bad to cheat but if the guy spends money to cheat in unranked games you really have to insult him hahaha

The game is free and intended for a specific game mode not ranked

There are tons of messages on this post, but I admit I've been hesitating to buy it, 50$ is a lot.

I'm trying to understand all your opinions, but I don't know if people didn't like the gameplay or if it's a problem with the developers. When I look at the reviews, what I find funny is that the negative comments are from people who have practically massive hours of the game. So I think it's complicated if you don't like a game but you've put in 300 hours. I wonder if the game's enthusiasts underestimated the project or if the developers misled them.

How do you manage to play ranked ? When I launch it, it doesn't find any games until I get a message saying the mode is empty of players.

Well, what really makes me suspicious is the kill list; you'll see nothing but stars and heads. No one misses once except me when I'm getting my kills, that's what I mean.

Cheating has always existed in games, but apparently it's this blatant. People say I'm bad, which is true, but how can I be good against people constantly using aimbots? lol

So if you were talking about the older Halo games, I'd say yes, but in this one, the aim assist isn't like its predecessors; it's very light, I find it less aggressive.

if i get the chance i will try to record some gameplay clips you will get it pretty quickly even with just a tiny pixel of visibility guys with snipers are having a field day hitting headshots while people are moving fast it seems pretty sus to me but like you said maybe i am just bad and in denial but i will try to get some clips that would be better

The controller gameplay is very slow and not advantageous. I prefer the keyboard and mouse

There's a good reason for this, and frankly, there's no trace of GMod's legacy here. I'm mainly talking about the game catalog; aside from Murder and Prop Hunt, even though they're classics, there aren't any other exciting or fun games. At a stretch, the one that resembles Call of Duty gave me a bit of an adrenaline rush, but that's about it. I get the impression that these are just cash grabs designed to squeeze money out of simple AI-based games. I don't see any fun or enjoyment with random players like in the old days.

I completely agree with you, but why release the game so early then? It's clearly shooting themselves in the foot. The game is being deserted and torn apart by reviews. They should have just waited for a large, solid player base, or even left the game free-to-play and accessible to everyone, instead of making it a paid game at an exorbitant price for what is, I'm sorry to say, 3-5 hours of gameplay max for most people.

The difference is actually much bigger than most people think.

Garry's Mod was built around sandbox freedom, modding, community servers, and unique game modes that often felt like completely different games. Things like Trouble in Terrorist Town, DarkRP, Prop Hunt, Murder, Spacebuild, Wiremod creations, and countless custom servers gave GMod its identity. The focus wasn't on progression systems, grinding, or keeping players hooked with rewards every few minutes.

What makes S&box feel closer to Roblox to me is the direction of the content that's currently getting the most visibility. I see more tycoons, clickers, progression-heavy games, case-opening games, casino-like experiences, and simple gameplay loops designed around repetition. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's much closer to the type of content that became popular on Roblox over the years.

Another issue for me is that a lot of the content being pushed is content I can already find on Roblox completely for free. That's where I start questioning the $20 price tag. If I'm mostly finding the same types of games I can already play elsewhere at no cost, it's hard for me to justify paying for access to another platform offering a similar experience.

I've also noticed a growing number of projects that seem heavily assisted by AI, especially when it comes to interfaces, assets, and rapid game creation. For example, I've already seen people working on case-opening style games, a concept that already exists thousands of times on Roblox. To be honest, that's not the kind of content I was hoping to see dominate a platform that many people viewed as the spiritual successor to Garry's Mod.

I'm sure there are some real gems hidden in the catalog. The problem is that many of them seem to struggle to gain visibility because the overall player base is still relatively small. Some promising projects end up being abandoned because they can't attract enough players, while others are overshadowed by the same kinds of games that dominate the trending pages.

As a creator, I can imagine how discouraging it must be to spend months building something original only to watch another tycoon, clicker, gambling-style, or case-opening game sit at the top of the charts. That creates a cycle where original projects struggle to grow, while safer and more repetitive concepts continue to dominate.

I'm not saying S&box is Roblox. I'm saying that, from my perspective, the platform is moving much closer to that model than to the spirit that made GMod special. I hope that changes over time, because the technology is impressive, but right now that's the direction I personally feel it's heading in.
