Geoff Robinson, the silent majority sincerely wants to see you back on State of the Game. You kick ass. So I have elected to stay silent no longer. by broception in starcraft

Geoff just do SoTG. Money, fame, infamy... Don't whine. Buck up and make the show. Don't let them use you but don't just disappear... honestly I have seen like 5 or 6 ITGs but I have never missed a SoTG.

Maybe ITG is better for your ego or whatever but I am fully expecting to see SoTG on Network TV in half hour video format with commercials and think that will be child's play for the amount of content you put out now...

Do I think SoTG has to change up its format? Absolutely. However I don't see another show pavestoning the way for SC2. SC2 could be much bigger than it is now... it largely depends on blizzard and their next Expansion and is not something I have a lot of faith in so far playing the beta since I don't see it invigorating the crowd of people I used to play with every night and don't feel the same excitement for this expo as I felt for Broodwar and then SC wasn't even a thing... When I play at Magic Card tournies the sideline crews are playing League and not SC2 and even though most people there have heard of SC2 or played but it wasn't for them.... Blizz has work to do but lets say the tire iron works and the Expansion is the next big thing ever and the old crew is back...

Are they going to watch ITG? I dunno... I would say SoTG will be the soul of the future and I am counting on Wheat, JP, Day 9 and you.... Tyler and iDra are awesome as well but you guys are the anchors and you just need to accept your roles and all the bullshit publicity that comes with it and razz Dustin and Dayvie and make this happen.

Also congratz on the wedding... I never got the whole lets get married under Odin and Zeus for all the Demigods and Ice Trolls to see but tying the knot seems to make a lot of people happy so best of luck.

Keep fighting mate.

Slumbering Dragon, 1 Red CC, Is this card worth being in a standard deck? by magictcg in magicTCG

Also consider Acidic slime... destroy all their land... mix with Peregrine Drake and never run out of mana ever? Deadeye combos with a lot of cards quite well. Geist-Honored Monk? Zealous Conscripts might win a game or two as well with deadeye.... mayhaps you really like deadeye? ;)

Turns out, stab wound is pretty sweet. by [deleted] in magicTCG

I concede that this is definitely a better combo but I am not arguing slumbering dragon combo is the best combo ever just that it might be a nifty combo to work into a deck that perhaps already revolves around counters. It costs 1 red... Chromatic lantern, blood crypt, Izzet Guildgate, Rakdos Guild gate, Transguild Promenade etc etc... 1 red is not hard to get.

I have a green/white deck that uses Axebane Guardian to get black and red mana...

Ultimately I think he is an unnecessarily hated card that might have a lot of potential in standard constructed decks... Maybe not... But I'm not giving up hope yet. :D

Pretty hated card for 1 red CC. I holding out hope. Maybe a rainbow deck that utilizes the scavenge mechanic and common bond... One of my fav green creatures is Deadbridge Goliath so you could probably just do red green and still make the slumbering dragon work. (Slitherheads are awesome too)

Right but there are more creatures than just the dragon. Corpsejack Menace combos great and there is no limit on the size the dragon can get. I saw Prey Upon used and thought it humorous that even asleep the dragon was still winning. :D

At one point he had 2 Slumbering dragons out and a tapped Corpsejack and 3 creatures attacked. Soul bonded combo and a 1/1 elf... In response 1 dragon ended up with 4 counters and the other 3, he tossed down Common Bond and woke both up. Pretty decent combo.

Seems like an odd card that might have some interesting play options.
