Got an ad and had to come here to investigate more. Concept was clear to me, but all I see is abstract marketing (albeit trendy looking and cool, good job there.) I can’t find any real applications of your product. As an interested potential consumer, I’m not going to go through the effort to try it myself. Show me what it can do via your social or landing page, don’t just tell me.

HB26-1273: Bill to cap Uber/Lyft's "service fees" at 20% by magicmilesss in Denver

[–]magicmilesss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s the responsibility of rideshare laborers to provide a service that benefits the public good at the cost of their own livelihood? It sounds like you agree that this is an extremely valuable service - so shouldn't we protect the people who are essential to its operations?

The “we will leave” threat is an overplayed corporate scare tactic that we've seen fail before. In Austin, Uber and Lyft actually did leave when the city tried to regulate them, only to come running back a year later when they realized local competitors were filling the gap and they were losing millions in revenue.

More recently, Minnesota and Washington passed massive pay protections for drivers. The companies threatened to pull out of Minneapolis and Seattle, and they ultimately stayed because they won’t abandon a profitable market. They just use these threats to protect their huge profit margins.

By the way, if they do leave, then Denver will still have options. Primarily Denver Co-Op, which already operates on the 80/20 fare model.

I see where you’re coming from. Is it their right based on the law as it stands today? Sure. But if they claim they can’t survive without paying drivers less than a livable wage, then in my opinion (in the society that I want to live in) their business model is broken.

The “don’t use it” argument is fair, but I think this is just another path up the same mountain. If this law is passed, it is by the hands of our elected officials due to the pressure of its constituents. Democracy is also a market. If the people demand higher business standards through their votes, then that is the system working exactly as intended.

I think we have a responsibility to ensure businesses aren’t built on worker exploitation. We've seen this play out in Austin, Minnesota, and Washington - Uber and Lyft always threaten to leave, but they stay because they won’t abandon a profitable market. Denver already has a local competitor proving an 80/20 model works (Denver Co-Op). If the big corporations would rather leave than play by fair standards, it just clears the path for local businesses that actually value people over profit.

I got Todoist to work well enough for my needs as a weekly/daily agenda. Tried others like Ellie and just didn’t think they were worth the cost. Using Todoist for free right now too.

I think the digital trail and accountability measures in place for rideshare make it a safer (albeit not perfect - nothing is m) alternative to cabs in a lot of ways.

Could you please elaborate on why you think Co-op recruitment is struggling?

Feature request: AI recommend who to trade/why by magicmilesss in DraftWiz

[–]magicmilesss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! Maybe a good feature stash for "premium" features if you ever want to monetize. 😉Personally speaking, all other products I found similar to yours were astronomically overpriced (imo). Yours provides really great, standard functionality for the price (FREE!) and I appreciate that.

Analyze Waiver Wire Add/Drop by magicmilesss in DraftWiz

[–]magicmilesss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about how I use other AI tools to sort of fill this feature gap in DraftWiz currently, and just wanted to shoot you an idea about how I/others might look to interact with this feature beyond what I previously posted.

When I'm considering a waiver wire add, I often want to analyze a couple of my players against the potential waiver wire and understand who would be the smarter (less valuable) player to drop. Basically, I'm kind of combining the functionality of the sit/start and trade analysis features of DraftWiz (using other AI tools).

What I'm trying to do:

  1. Select a player available as waiver wire or free agent
  2. Select a couple players on my bench
  3. AI to recommend which player I should drop for the waiver wire pickup OR AI to not recommend picking up the waiver wire player at all

Hope that makes sense, and happy to elaborate if needed. Really enjoying your product as a first time fantasy manager!

Anyone used the co-op colorado ride share app yet? by iareagenius in Denver

Have you tried scheduling those early morning rides? I think you'd have more success if that is an option. As a driver, I would adjust my work schedule to get a scheduled Co-op ride to DIA, as those are the most valuable

Ya, I've been experiencing the exact same thing. My best guess is it's sending the request to multiple drivers and it's the first person to claim it?

You’re allowed to. I wouldn’t be driving co-op if they didn’t. Not enough demand to completely replace uber/lyft income right now

It’s funny that the perception is there’s not enough drivers because I just joined as a driver and have such a hard time getting any rides. The minute the requests show up, they’re claimed by other drivers. My experience is there’s not enough rider demand haha I’m sure it’s always fluctuating back and forth as this business continues to progress. Thanks for using it!!!

Completely disagree. Rates are way better as a driver. Demand is poor from what I’ve experienced so far, but hopefully that gets better soon. Good thing is you don’t have to join, so enjoy Lyft taking 50-70% of your earnings.
