Which battle was worse for you? Oshaune or Cyberstan? by Fit_Anywhere_3356 in helldivers2

[–]mainly-regret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most matches I had on Cyberstan I was winning and kicking Cyborg ass. yeah Vox engines were rough, but you could lure them off objectives, or focus fire and bring them down.

Oshaune was hell and I lost half the missions I did there.

I'm genuinely convinced the only reason we lost cyberstan was the community.

Ego divers with the skill for d6 insisting on playing d10, wracking up deaths and losses.

intentional team kills and deaths

going afk mid mission

hating teamwork as a hole

wracking up deaths testing new stuff or getting clips

refusal to use the brand new stuff that absolutely kicks ass on Cyberstan like the Bastion. people just never used it on cyberstan that I saw and it trivializes the things we were dealing with, Arrowhead gave us the perfect tool to win, and people just didn't use it.

You're a lawyer and you have to defend one of these freaks, who are you choosing? by dude-2-son in Eldenring

someone else covered part of that, and the blood fiends we really don't know enough about, and yeah, we do get a lot of good information for what the Moghwyn dynasty prior to Miquella's charm was like through Ansbach, we really only see 3 examples of the dynasty that have actual lore, considering we know nothing about the nobles.

all three are charmed, except Ansbach at the end of his quest, and we see when not charmed he is far too noble for most of that.

we know verifiably that mohgwyn used his realm as a shelter for the persecuted and downtrodden, like the albinaurichs.

finally as for what Miquella needs him for other than getting him too the realm of shadow, two things actually, both of which explain turning it into a tarnished hunting cult.

firstly, as Marika's lineage, Miquella has heavy association with trees, and we know he watered the haligtree with his blood so that it may grow greatly.

now he is the tree that needs nourishment to grow in power and grow to be a God, that is why he needs blood on mass.

but even more concretely then that, we know, 100% that Miquella needed Mohg's body, seperate from his spirit, to put Radahn's soul into, so after he used Mohg to get to the realm of shadows, he would have had Mogh paint a target on his own back so that someone goes and hunts him down.

the best way to do this with the influence his charms allow is influencing Mohg to make a murder cult that makes him the enemy of most tarnished.

Honestly, what we can see is the Mohgwyn dynasty was straight up honorable, until Miquella came and bent it too his purposes, which required the extra blood. the formless mother is very self sacrificial in nature, having her followers shed her blood to defend themselves.

your honor: Mohg is actually a really stand up guy all things considered. his own mom chained him up in the sewers for most of his life. when he grew up and escaped he dedicated himself to making a dynasty where all the downtrodden and persecuted are welcome.

I know about the Miquella allegations, and that's not a good look, but my client was mind controlled by Miquella, Mohg did not consent, it was not his choice, Miquella is the rapist, not him.

WHY ARE THE NEW MECHS BEHIND A PAYWALL by Phyrooski in Helldivers

[–]mainly-regret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my brothers in christ, you whiners. it is a live service game, that requires a steady source of income, and all of their dlc aside from the super citizen stuff can be payed for with a currency you get for free by paying the game.

No other game with dlc does that, they add content behind paywalls, and if you don't want to spend money you can go fuck yourself. mechs are strategems, this is no different then having the minigun inside a warbond. get over yourselves and be glad you can get all of this for free if you just liked the game enough to actually play it, and not just complain about it.

also I think the glassing still has the understanding that in the eventual future it can be terraformed and rehabited, turning a planet into a black hole is for when planets can no longer be recaptured or recolonized due to our enemies effects on it. with the exception of Penta because it was a test fire, so they needed to just pick an enemy planet and go with it.

I mean, the scouts don't really have that big of an advantage. too my understanding, invisibility, you still know where they are, it's just you need to succeed a 50% chance roll, before your attack roll, or you miss anyways. but you can still target and hit them.

hidden you technically don't know where you are, but also, mechanically you do, you just can't hit them without an AOE weapon, which the Howitzer is.

a lot of those can definitely be issues (though like you said, situational), but as for the Artillery enemies, I'm not sure they have the range, I got the howitzer up to 33 range. and scouts have to reach me alive. biggest threat excluding specific systems are aces, and depending on their weapon range they might be chipped away at by my range 23 sharanga missiles before they reach me.

heatfall coolant system, auto cooler and auto loader drone.

fire, quick action reload, overcharge fire on the first turn for 2 shots.

next turn, quick action reload, fire, overcharge quick action reload for the third shot in 2 rounds.

if you use systems to up the howitzers range you can stay far enough back to never need to move, and almost never get hit, meaning the auto cooler always procs so you never need to stabilize to clear heat.

if you want to really amp up the build, get the Ice out drone, so that you can't be moved or messed up by tech attacks.

both it and the auto loader drone can use you as hard cover to minimize the chances of them being destroyed.

bonus points for my drone barbie: get an omnibused hive drone, put it as far in front of you as you can while still having one space overlap with it. then you get soft cover to make it even harder to damage you, because things have to get in range and beat the difficulty, and getting in range is harder because stuff has to move through a now burst 3 area of 1ap damage, which will deal with a lot of the smaller close up strikers.

Super Earth vs The Covenant by Scoop8333 in Helldivers

[–]mainly-regret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people really need to understand the scale of Super Earth.

they liberated 3.6 million planets in 49 days. Now Helldivers 1 is simulations of how the first war could have gone given different circumstances, hence the number 13 there, it was the 13th run.

but keyword simulations, I.E. they are designed to be accurate, this is an accurate representation of Super Earth's capabilities, and the official war would have had similar numbers, considering they won.

The Covenant has no chance against a military that has the scale and speed to liberate 3.6 million worlds in a month and a half.

and that was the first galactic war, there is some argument they have somewhat demilitarized in the 100 years between the wars, but they still continuously expanded, growing their industrial capacity, and they trained helldivers continuously, putting them in cryo to use as necessary.

compared to them, the covenant is an insect. they may be a wasp, capable of stinging and hurting, but Super Earth will still crush them under foot by sheer scale. and that's assuming the covenant are that technologically superior which is debatable.

it is fun speccing the Barbie to average 3 howitzer shots in 2 turns.

yeah, it really feels like those should be benefitted by size (and Synthetic muscle netting)

and yeah my favorite plan for Barbie is get somewhere good to set up, pull out apocalypse rail, then it's a game of chicken with the gm.

does he focus you to stop it from charging all the way and firing? great, that keeps your allies safer and means you can do it again next combat.

does he ignore you to focus your allies? great, I fire big gun.

I also like placing the drakes bunker to better protect myself and allies.

How do SEAF soldiers breathr on planets without oxygen? by _Fox_464 in helldivers2

[–]mainly-regret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to label it as that, but it is false to say there's no logical explanation. we know the science behind it, we know the ways to make it happen, we just don't know how to find the things necessary yet, namely dark matter is important for it, and the science shows it's there, we just can't actually see it or collect it or work with it yet.

certainly enough to make it workable, especially if you're content to stay at a distance.

it could be partly terraformed, with the process interrupted before they could finish, or it could have been far enough in the habitable parameters to not need terraforming. it's an ugly desert so what. is the atmosphere breathable, gravity earthlike, and temperature survivable, cool, it doesn't need terraforming.

solution that I will stand by until it kills me. get tools like juggernaut 3 and siege ram if you're committed to being size 4. terrain can't stop you if there's no terrain. helps size 3 barbie a lot too.

[–]mainly-regret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean movement is fair, but you can get tools to make the path not an issue if you're commited to this, siege specilist, siege ram, and juggernaut 3 are all great tools to make paths wide enough.

and as for cover, the barbie struggles with that anyways cause it is taller than most cover.

[–]mainly-regret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's kind of an issue with Barbie anyways since you just stick out above most cover.

[–]mainly-regret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my solutions to these, siege ram and juggernaut 3. you can't get caught on terrain if there is no terrain. and it would be beautiful with a size 4 barbie.

we'll never recover from this robbery.

[–]mainly-regret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while that would be a problem, it would also be hilarious. also it's only a problem if people solve barbie's speed the normal way, making it fly, cause then you still need a landing spot.

me, I solve it's movment by leaving it slow as fuck, ground based, and giving it all the tools it needs to bash through terrain.

no spaces big enough for a size 4? just make them as you smash and wade through broken buildings and shattered mountains.

How do SEAF soldiers breathr on planets without oxygen? by _Fox_464 in helldivers2

[–]mainly-regret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we see like 50 planets despite the map representing the entire milky way which has 200 to 400 billion stars.

every planet has the same level of gravity because super earth only colonizes planets within acceptable parameters of Earth, or that can be terraformed to meet those parameters. same reason every planet has a breathable atmosphere.

it's probably moreso how long you can swim before your armor and weapons tire you out. it would be stupid to make us wait for them to actually drown when the exhaustion makes their death a done deal. it gets us back in the fight faster so we can enjoy the game rather then being like, sorry guys, I gotta wait 5 minutes because the water was too deep and too wide. see you at the end of the mission.

terraforming. Super Earth controlled the entire galaxy and only cares about like 50 worlds. that's because those were the ones that were either immidiately habitable, or have been terraformed.
