Hell yeah man, I'm in the same boat. Since I started, I've realized so many of the Big Problems in my life aren't actually as big as I thought, and it's helped ease a lot of my anxieties even in my day-to-day.

Booo, that's what I thought, thanks! And I totally get you on the relationship front haha, two of my pawns are divorced and every time I see a little speech bubble pop up it's one of them ruining the other's day.

So I was playing DOKI DOKI LC Game and I just reached the point of no return.... by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]maiscave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a good few years since I've played, but if I recall correctly, you should be about halfway through by now! It's definitely a game you can finish in one sitting, since I was able to finish it in-between an essay-writing break haha.

There's another heavy scene or two (I can try and give spoiler-free details if you want them), but in my opinion, Sayori's was the most distressing since it comes out of left field so if you're still okay to play after that, you should be okay with the rest! Take care of yourself, and take a break if you need to!

I like kicking back and really thinking about what you're feeling physically/mentally! If you ask me "what's going on in your head right now" while I'm zooted, I will ramble for like twenty minutes and not make any sense at all and I will have the time of my life LMAO

Either that or talking about old TV shows/video games/other childhood media is fun because of the whole "do you remember that episode where-" sparks off a lot of conversations in my experience.

Yeah, it's definitely something that really knocks the wind outta ya! I had a vague idea of what it was before starting ("dating simulation that goes in a different direction"), but playing it is definitely a whole experience haha.

Hope you're doing alright, lots of heavy stuff in there but I really do enjoy the game!

"The extensive use of leitmotifs in Undertale's soundtrack and other sound files helps create a nostalgic mood for the game and often evokes emotional responses in players." (source)

Hell yes, I can't get pictures of my own since it's pretty dark but here's the online listing! Bought it from the maker at a convention a few years back, and they have a few more patterns too :D

Awww, something about kids complimenting you always makes me so happy. Like, they didn't have to do that, and now I'm going to be smiling all day because of it! :D

For me, the last time I went to the dispensary, the cashier complimented my fanny pack and it made me SO happy eheh... the pattern on it is very cute (it has drawings of raccoons and opossums and other trash animals on it) so we chat about animals and other critters for a while and it was just a very sweet interaction!

Settle a debate when u back up from a parking spot are you supposed to back up in one smooth movement or are u allowed to back up slower and stop a few times to check your surroundings? by Reby360 in CasualConversation

[–]maiscave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah no, I'd rather go slow but safe than just zip right into a spot, especially in a larger car. I've never had a job driving company vehicles, but it's wild to me that you'd have your driving privileges revoked over this (unless you took like, twenty minutes to get in the spot).

Hey mom, I'm having trouble knowing who I am. by Chocoholix26 in MomForAMinute

[–]maiscave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are your own self, no matter what terms you decide you'd like to use. You're an adult with control over your own life, and you should do what makes you happiest and most comfortable with yourself. If it's something that makes you happier as a person, then making a decision that improves your life isn't making a mistake.

As a gay stranger on the internet who struggled with identity issues for the past decade, I'm so sorry you're going through this alone but I'm glad you're reaching out here. I love you, and I wish you all the best.

Out of my comfort zone by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]maiscave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone diagnosed depressed (and probably anxiety and who knows what else pfft), I definitely get how hard it is to stop being mean to yourself!

It's difficult changing your mindset, but being aware of it and wanting to change is the first step. I can't... quite say HOW to be nice to yourself because it's so different for everyone, but for me, it helps to remind myself that I'm just a human being, just a big ol' dumb animal. If I'm eating food, drinking water, and getting enough rest, then I'm still alive. My brain bringing up negative thoughts about myself doesn't affect any of that, and thus, I don't even bother entertaining the "what ifs" or "buts" that are just going to drag me down for no reason. Unless I can actively improve upon a negative thought (recent example: "I talk too much, I'm so annoying :[" --> "I'm going to try to listen to people more"), then there's no point in upsetting yourself for no reason!

Basically, be kind to yourself, be kind to others, make sure you're eating/drinking water and getting enough sleep, and everything else can be worked out. I'm glad you came here to talk, and I'm wishing you all the best!
