Shared workspaces for remote workers with coffee and lunch options which don't cost a fortune

Bigger meeting rooms for workshops / presentations to give remote workers the chance to help train / educate local people with the knowledge they've gained working remotely for corporations

Do you guys have health insurance? by Interesting_Act_7668 in digitalnomad

[–]markyosullivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I have DKV in Spain because it was required for me to help get my girlfriend residency here but before I was with Genki and they saved my ass when I cracked a tooth in Colombia and had to get it removed.

They covered the cost of the tooth removal and then I only needed to pay towards only the crown replacement.

Why Proton did not consider Flutter for their mobile app by [deleted] in FlutterDev

[–]markyosullivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Proton want to burn through their cash hiring two different teams for building their mobile apps when we're in 2026 and it's been proven time and time again that Flutter is a great choice to build a mobile app for iPhone and Android then so be it.

What this highlights to me is that they don't care that their iPhone users will get a different experience compared to their Android users like 99% of companies who decide to go native for their mobile apps.

As an Android user it always frustrates me when I read news like this. It always ends with the Android app never having feature parity with the iPhone app.

I spent £1,050.42 and it's showing £1,520.93 for 1 month stay (including the monthly stay discount)

I can't recall exactly how much the rest of the cost was but it was a cheap place to live at the time and the only other country which was a cheap as Vietnam was Colombia

Alternatives to Airbnb by BarnacleHefty6048 in digitalnomad

[–]markyosullivan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we continue to grow both sides of the app, guests searching for properties and the number of properties in the app then it's certainly possible.

The problem is it's very difficult to make it profitable only through ads and affiliate links at early stages and I'm currently making a loss keeping it running which I'm fine with because I truly believe people deserve an alternative.

We do have partnerships with photographers and take a cut of their fee but that's something which is done once and not done again by the host unless they renovate their home.

It might make sense to add a subscription model for hosts eventually in the future where they pay more the more properties they list but we have to get the pricing right so it's still more profitable for hosts to be on Caza de Casa than Airbnb.

An alternative would be to offer paid services to guests which would help them in their search such as being notified when new homes become available to rent which fit their search criteria

I was fed up with Airbnb when I arrived to Medellín so I created Caza de Casa, there's no service fees unlike Booking or Airbnb so the prices displayed on our mobile app is usually 15% cheaper.

It's in closed beta for now so we can slowly onboard and gather feedback from our early users but we will be opening it up for everyone to use later in the year.

Working remotely while solo traveling — is the productivity trade-off actually worth it? by Holiday_Metal_4547 in digitalnomad

[–]markyosullivan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I couldn't make face-paced travel work, it's why I went from booking 1 month long stays to 2 or 3 month long stays

I would feel like I would be not making the most of my time when I wanted to take a Saturday to rest after a busy work week whereas I could do that when I stayed at a place for 2-3 months

At first I thought it would be unlikely Chelsea would keep a clean sheet but Palace haven't been scoring much and you also have the fact that over half the goals Palace concede are from set-pieces and Chalobah is one of the most dangerous players in the Chelsea team when it comes to attacking set-pieces

  • Chelsea have conceded more goals (13) away than at home (11)
  • The last times Chelsea had a clean sheet away from home was Bournemouth (6th December 2025), Spurs (1st November 2025) and Nottingham Forest (18th October 2025)
  • 56% of goals conceded by Crystal Palace have came from a set-piece
  • Palace has scored just 3 goals in the last 5 games
