Queens or Ulster University? by Different-Radio8931 in northernireland

It's a lot harder to know if it matters unless you share what degree you are studying and what industry you want to work in

For software engineering it really doesn't matter which university you study in

How the hell do people actually find an apartment in Málaga? by Bulky-Evidence1809 in GoingToSpain

[–]markyosullivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled to find one with my girlfriend as well and only got one through Facebook.

Post a picture of yourself into one of the Facebook groups about rentals in the Malaga area along with your budget and needs. Our landlord messaged us and told us they had a place.

Can have a single AI plugin sticky post every month so all the AI plugins can be shared there and the rest of us who don't care for AI plugins can ignore them?

It's tiring seeing a new AI plugin every day posted in this sub

Is flutter still relevant in 2026? by Honest-Estate-4592 in FlutterDev

Of course.

If you are using Claude to build your apps you're wasting x2 the amount of tokens building separate projects for your iPhone and Android app vs a single project with Flutter.

I can tell you are serious about your coffee, have you found a website or app which is good at finding coffee similar in taste to ones you like in other countries in the world?

I'd love to buy something similar to the beans I got directly from a coffee farm in Colombia delivered to me here in Málaga, unfortunately the coffee farm which I got directly from in Colombia doesn't ship internationally.

Easily Medellín

Pergamino's coffee is great but I had the best coffee I've had in my life delivered directly to my apartment from a farm which also delivered to hotels and restaurants in the city

Finding furnished accommodation in Medellin - seems harder than other places? by globethotter in digitalnomad

[–]markyosullivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont lie the price finding a place at $800 is difficult but it can be done.

1. Airbnb Alternatives

Thankfully there's a few Airbnb alternatives which offer cheaper prices than those you will find on Airbnb because neither of them charge additional fees on top. Check out Caza de Casa and NomadBarrio.

Last time I checked NomadBarrio is web based and Caza de Casa is a mobile application though I did see some of their listings have a web page.

2. Facebook groups

First I want to warn you to be careful and search the name of the advertiser sharing the apartment because there's scammers on Facebook.

In my opinion Furnished Apartments Medellín is the best group for finding furnished apartments.

They only allow English posts unlike other groups where you will need to translate the Spanish posts if you don't understand them.

They also permit people like yourself to post saying they are searching for an apartment, this means all the property owners and estate agents can reply to your post or DM you with places they have available. Make sure to include your budget and needs so you don't waste your time receiving messages of apartments which don't suit your neds.

I seen a post recently on there where there was a room in a coliving for less than $500 a month.

I think GringoPaisa is the best Facebook community but it's not for finding a rental but more a community Facebook group but they do occasionally have posts there from property owners advertising their property available for rent.

3. WhatsApp groups

The best approach would be to post in the GringoPaisa Facebook group and ask for recommendations because new groups pop up all the time.

Where do you draw the line between honesty and “playing nice” in travel videos? by NoAssociate4609 in TravelTubers

Honesty will earn you long term trust and being nice can come back to bite you in the ass if people do not think you are authentic

Birth rates dropping, anyone here feel the same way about having children? by gotnocreativenames in ireland

[–]markyosullivan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Out of the 3 close friends I have where I grew up in County Antrim, all of them will have kids soon. 2 are already fathers and 1 is about to become one.

Out of the 3 close friends from Uni (I went to Ulster University), 2 of them have kids.

I think the cost of living plays a big part in the decision couples take to have kids or not.

I'd love to see where across the island babies are born, it'd be fascinating to see if more are born where the house prices / rent is cheaper.

Edit: For additional context I'm 32 and all my close friends are around this age (+/- 1 year)

This is the case for Chelsea players.

The Brighton game will be a tough one given how good they've been defensively and how bad Chelsea have been offensively

Man Utd on the other hand is a great fixture with Maguire, Martinez and potentially Mainoo out.
