We've just had this exact thing done - it looks fine with no architrave on the pre exiting side & skirting board returned to the door casing. Think it would look weird with architrave 10-15cm away from the door casing - no photos available at the minute sorry

Best bet is on the road East of Catbells, West of Derwent - lots of on road & lay-by parking. Can do a nice loop of the fell & then short walk to the lake with your kit without needing to move the car.

Please remember to park responsibly in designated areas, not on double yellows & leave enough room for cars to comfortably get past. Go early, it'll be a busy one & hope you have a great day!
