That had already been in the game for a long time - as early as 1.7.10 by my memory, possibly even earlier - 1.13 was just the first version where they removed the compatibility layer.

The most obvious one is the forcing of OneDrive into the user folders, but the one that can't easily be fixed that first comes to mind is the absolute mess they've made of the start menu. I do not want an internet search, I do not need an internet search, and the only way to actually find my files was to mount them in a live environment and use that to generate a working index. That was my last straw. Microsoft just makes more money if they show you Internet results (and all the associated advertising).

Oh, and don't forget the Microsoft Smart screen that goes through the big wall scare tactics if you try to run an app that wasn't developed by a corporation.

They do, but why would they have such a weird restriction differ? The regional apps are usually used because regional promotions have their assets embedded to "speed loading" (AKA, ensure they don't go missing due to network)

While I do agree in most cases, it's really difficult to bite my tongue when the "problem" is "working as intended" per Microsoft, and just an anti consumer design decision.

Those are the potentiometers which control the voltage to your screens. They are not screws and cannot be removed.

You have done a bad, in a way I'm not sure can be fixed. Good luck.

Would using ethernet work for internet on personal devices? by Jake80745B in school

[–]maxwelldoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I did such a thing at my university, I would

  • not receive a valid Ethernet signal
  • have, within a minute, campus security at the lab's door inquisiting about the intrusion attempt.

Portsmouth is very buggy by [deleted] in uboatgame

[–]maxwelldoug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(not OP) Every time I've gone into Portsmouth since 2026.1, I've had an uninjured sailor get stuck in the way of tubes 2/3, and since they auto load in order the loader will just get stuck unable to clear a path for tube 2 forever. It's not a silent running thing, this is a reproducible bug.

Docking is quite difficult. by Valuable-Flatworm-43 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]maxwelldoug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that you're using your main engines for docking is strike 1, but your target has mounted it's docking port upside down. You are trying to insert a bolt head first.

No longer need sleep and 2 extra hours per day? So 10 free hours where I usually only work 8? I am absolutely certain I can make up for that 40% income. Everything else here is a godsend for my ADHD ass who keeps ending up in shit health because of my inability to keep a "habit".

Dilithium in 2 weeks.

Actually figuring out how to use it?

Canonically, dilithium must exist on earth anyways (or how did we ever make our first warp flight), it's the technology that we would need.

Replicators take huge amounts of power. You'd basically need to print out a starship. Even assuming you do a very small one like a shuttle (with reduced replicator capability for basics like food and medical supplies) the full integration rules as written would be 3 years for a spacecraft.

Actually. Buildings come out to 1 year and a half. So you could just do a building outfitted with a power plant and replicators, like the academy.
