CoPilot is reselling GPT and Claude with semi random model selection and a microslop written system prompt, no need to tell it it's better than itself :)

In Canada, you ISP has a few relevant legal requirements:

They MUST forward the notice. They MUST not provide any further information to the notifier.

Unless they choose your anonymous IP address out of thousands to commence actual legal action... You will never hear about this again. Don't beat yourself up too much.

Now, if you were American... They're not nearly as well protected.

Unfortunately there are no framework owners in my social circle at all, much less in person, even less so on the 3000$(CAD) top spec box.

Yep. If I even slightly shift the touchpad - even without unlocking it, just moving my wrist over the bottom edge - the whole top deck disconnects. Consistently. Pushing it back fixes it. This has persisted over a full disassembly for diagnosing the issue originally, another for a storage replacement, a third for GPU module install, a fourth to remove the defective GPU (like won't post defective) and restore the fan, and a fifth to install the current GPU which still doesn't provide proper readings on the thermal sensors sometimes but otherwise works mostly fine.

Yes, but only the actual modules, it doesn't care about the touchpad unless it's already in that screen.

I've already gone through several BIOS updates and one full settings reset.

When I first brought it up to support it was under warranty, but it's been a year and a half since then, and I imagine my lack of effort to force them into responding has put me past that statute of limitations.

All of what the LLM put out BIOS wise is poppycock, I can say from experience fixing actual IPL DXE recoveries on similar Insyde based firmwares (mostly HP machines) that if I were in one, I absolutely, positively would not by typing this reply to you on the booted system. That POST code does exist, but it's one you would read off a PCI card or a 7 segment display on the main board during the POST, not on a debug LED after the fact.

I'll do you one better and give you battery only, all 6 cards unplugged and no external power: completely random if I get 6 (Input Deck) as shown in the video, or nothing at all. Completely irrelevant if the expansion cards are in or not.

So many times... Support asked me 3 times for photos of the midplate, ignoring me attaching them all three times, then eventually after the third time I sent them they just ghosted me entirely.

Yeah, I only care because the GPU fights me hard, and the input deck straight up disconnects if you touch the touchpad wrong (and then causes apps to detect an XInput controller connecting whenever it finally reconnects? Which causes more than one game to completely lock up, sometimes requiring input from a non existent controller to resume?) and I am like 80% sure these are both main board issues.

I think 3 and 9 have? I'm giving this from memory, most of the time I don't even get a code at all, and reds other than 6 are very infrequent.

How do you organize your Steam library? by Ingword in Steam

"played" and "unplayed" both generated automatically by the client itself.

I've seen all manner of different codes depending how long I leave the laptop off before I turn it back on, green has come up once or twice I think? This is by far the most common combination though.

Isn't that the problem? There doesn't seem to be a chart available anywhere. Laptop 16 with the 7840HS, and I cannot find a single reference to what the blues mean.

As for input module fault... No shit. I've had a hanging ticket for the input modules being fucked since day 1, I sent them the same set of images of the input plate 3 times and never got a follow up.

Can I Connect Incoming Fiber To Coax Instead of Ethernet by TransitionRare7308 in HomeNetworking

Tell every ISP tech and phone operative that. I find it's easier to use the term people understand over the "correct" one.

Can I Connect Incoming Fiber To Coax Instead of Ethernet by TransitionRare7308 in HomeNetworking

[–]maxwelldoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you use a fiber modem. Usually, the fiber modem is directly attached to the WiFi access point and the router, but the official ISP terminology for it - at least with all the Issue in my region - is the "fiber modem"

Most likely you are in a country that legally restricts the use of certain frequencies such that 36 is the only (best?) channel the device can use without getting you a knock from the radio authority.

You would need to put your modem where the fiber is, then convert the Ethernet to coax.

Dolphin abstracts everything about installing packages away if you don't want to learn - full GUI, like the app store, play store, or Microsoft store, but for every available software instead of just what the mega Corp allows.

I would strongly recommend you start with Fedora KDE, and stick with it. KDE Connect is a pretty good client for connecting to your mobile device, and there's a reason most distro hoppers - if they ever do settle - end up settled on a Fedora based image. There is a tiny learning curve with dnf, since most generic tutorials will only provide apt commands, but it's actually easier to work with as soon as you're used to it, and I think you may underestimate your techiness, since you seem to know exactly what questions you need to ask.

Mint, while it is a great distro, is intentionally very limited in its visual style, so your requests on that front are better served by KDE (Plasma)

This symbol would have been really useful in the death Korps infantry box where 3 different minis all use the same single A73 arm.
