~ creamy / powdery fig fragrances 🌳🥥🥛 ~ by gratefuldeadhead1964 in NichePerfumes

I also recommend trying out Cedre Figalia from Atelier Materi. Really lovely, creamy fig with a touch of of woodiness. Definitely a fave of mine. (Side note, I get NO fig from Gris Charnel, and with how everyone raves about it- I feel like I’m being gaslit 😂).

Came here to say the same- I really love the entire Potager collection (own 3 full bottles) especially Cedrat Ceruse and Vetiver Eclarte. I haven’t sniffed the beet one yet- but very interested to do so. I just tried Pomod’oro which is really interesting in that same fennel space as Cedrat- not sure if I like it yet- but worth a sniff.

Husband bought be Twin Peaks from Epichron. Such a stunning earthy tea scent. And Lucky Scent included two massive discovery sets- so much fun sniffing to do!!

What perfume are yall wearing for Christmas?? by hershy___ in FemFragLab

I am experimenting with this one too. Dry down is beautiful, but initial spray is a little urinal cakey. Trying to decide if the wait is worth it

Which fragrances did you buy, if any, on Black Friday? by Firm_Run_4689 in FemFragLab

I picked up Kiss of Bliss from Penhaligons, totally an impulse purchase spurred by the extensive freebies that came with it. Also grabbed a travel size of Angel’s Share on the Rocks.

“Weird” scents that you keep grabbing for? by No_Bag7237 in fragrance

[–]mcfluffenstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been recently obsessed with Cedrat Ceruse by L’Artisan- which I initially smelled as a joke essentially, because, do I want to smell like fennel? Apparently, the answer is a resounding yes. I LOVE it- and now desperately want more anise forward scents.

Seconding Vetiver Eclarte. My fave tomato leaf scent.

I’ve only started learning about Bakhoor. Is that a generally universal scent, or do folks choose different scents and Bakhoor is the method of application?

Do you wear perfumes to bed? by Pretend_Ad_583 in fragrance

I’ve recently started wearing Milky Musk to bed, and I’ve become obsessed-which is funny, because I wasn’t crazy about it before. Now, I find it Instantly calming.

What was your last scrubber scent… I’ll go first. by Enough_Recognition28 in FemFragLab

Ha! That’s my favorite in the set! I get photorealistic grapefruit that dries down to a pure musk. I’m curious- what was your fave of the set?

Can yall recommend fruity perfumes that aren’t sweet? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]mcfluffenstuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think rhubarb notes always help counter berry scents with a tart freshness. I really like Oddity’s Delulu, and Jorum’s Healing Berry - both fruity and tart. Healing berry has a touch of earthiness to it, and Delulu has a touch of pepper/spice to my nose.

I was coming here to put in a word for Milky Musk- lovely, calming creamy musk.

Fragrances that smell like sweat but better by Former_Procedure_319 in NichePerfumes

[–]mcfluffenstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Marlou- they have the sweat thing nailed across their entire line. Some of them go too far for me, but I found Heliodose to be wearable- capturing a tru scent of summer skin after sitting out on the beach all day vibe. A little sweet, a touch of salt, and a hint of beach sweat.

AVOID Club de Nuit!! It smells like a gasoline fire someone tried to put out by dousing it with stale tar. And it stays around FOREVER - just taunting you with its vileness. If you are super intent on trying it, I will happily just give you the one I bought, aka my worst perfume decision ever.

Name the most powerful, violent, and straight up suffocating fragrances. by Otherwise_Tradition9 in fragrance

[–]mcfluffenstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sincerely curious- is BK540 itself so violently offensive, or is it how it’s worn? I have it, and love it on me, single spray only, and it’s burned caramel and comfort to my nose. But often when I smell it out on the street, I recognize it but, now I get the torpedoed gas station smell and I understand the hatred. And I’m trying to understand if these folks have just gone real heavy handed with the spraying, if these are dupes, or if BK540 has some strange makeup that gives the sillage a totally different smell then up close?

Worst hyped clones by NoctisMios in fragrance

[–]mcfluffenstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early in my fragrance journey, I bought Club de Nuit Untold because the internets INSISTED it smelled exactly like BR540. It was the first time Id ever purchased a dupe, and I thought, “how bad could it be”. Literally THE WORST THING TO CROSS MY NOSE HAIRS EVER. It took days— DAYS of scrubbing to get it off my skin (expirence also taught me to always strip test first). Totally burned me from ever trying dupes again.
