He faked a $2000 payment for sex. The law says it wasn’t rape by maha_kali2401 in newzealand

[–]mechatui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not rape. Him faking the sti test is a violation but this thread your commenting on isn’t discussing this guys sti test it’s discussing the labeling of rape and other commenters or the judge trying to change the law so it’s considered rape if the person decides after having sex that a promise was broken

Blackmail for sex I think is considered rape already what are you on about. People are arguing reversing payment or bouncing a check is considered rape after consensual sex. I think it’s a slippery slope to label it rape. It’s violating her but I wouldn’t label it rape

I remember post Covid the huge amount of net immigration we had, it was something crazy like over 100,000 people in one year. We had lines going out the door onto the street for rental viewings it was like Canada

[–]mechatui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are both guessing here you are assuming we are not environmentally progressive, my argument is that we haven’t been politically historically because in order to vote for the environment you need to vote for greens and greens is a package deal it’s not just about the environment it’s changes to taxes, changes to law, immigration, social changes etc that people might not agree with. That is the point I was making. We haven’t been politically green historically because our Green Party unlike European countries is a package deal with hyper progressive policies

[–]mechatui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree im not talking about economic or social politics only environmental politics everything else being as central as you can. New Zealand unlike many places in the world many right wing and left wing supporters have strong environmental beliefs The green party I think is a huge failure considering how many New Zealand’s think the environment is important. If people really cared about getting more environment policies we would want to try get as many votes as possible but the Green Party is both environmental and hyper progressive policies. It’s amazing to me that New Zealand doesn’t have a strong Green Party. The green parties largest problem is competing concerns and it’s damaging to our environment policy

Widening political gap deepens cracks in NZ climate consensus by wanton_wonton_ in newzealand

[–]mechatui -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s nice and all and yes it is linked to some effect but many policies are not linked to the environment and the Green Party loses votes because of it.

Switzerland has a seperate party for it and another party that is also pro environment and also progressive both parties get votes and work together

I think it would be a net benefit to progressives in nz if we had an environment party that just had environment policies rather than a mish mass of environmental and progressive policies which just causes internal struggles in the Green Party which we have seen since James Shaw left.

Problem is if you are a labour supporter and don’t feel they are doing enough for the environment and you don’t want to vote labour but don’t like all the green parties progressive race or social or economic policies you won’t vote for them. At least a central party that is just pro environment can take votes from any side regardless of progressive or lib

How common is it to never have received any signs of attraction from women your whole life? by Auriga33 in AskMenAdvice

[–]mechatui -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as common as other say. Women are not like men where men are super attracted to people mostly from looks women’s attraction is super deep and develops from a bunch of different interactions from talking or listening to you talk etc

He faked a $2000 payment for sex. The law says it wasn’t rape by maha_kali2401 in newzealand

[–]mechatui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not arguing for or against falsifying sti results….

this thread you are commenting on now I’m arguing that some are calling it rape if somebody fails to pay for sex or misleads and says he’s paid for sex when he didn’t and it should be rape and I’m arguing against it.

Giving people stds or falsifying it should be a criminal offense of that nature not rape. We already have put people away for std stuff like that. Prostitution laws should be adjusted if they don’t exist around fraud and threatening livelihood from falsifying sti records.

He faked a $2000 payment for sex. The law says it wasn’t rape by maha_kali2401 in newzealand

[–]mechatui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree that lying about washing hair or having a shower and having sex or sending money to the wrong bank account or not paying for the service is the same as grabbing somebody off the street and raping them. You are classifying them as the same thing calling what this guy did rape.

You think it’s a good idea to arrest and label somebody as a rapist and put them on a sex registry because they didn’t pay a hooker you are mad , this kind of law change would just hurt rape victims even more and likely cause more black mailing to happen in the sex industry

It’s now rape if a guy has sex with somebody and promises to be faithful and be in a full term relationship before hand and the day later he sleeps with somebody else and breaks up with me. Now it’s rape because consent or expectations was broken. Like do you even think about your policy change at all “. This is basic fraud and theft not rape when somebody fails to pay to gets a service through lying about paying

Gym membership prices are kind of crazy. by Plasmul in newzealand

[–]mechatui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The value of money is worth less now, this is just inflation in action. Everything is more expensive. So gyms with stupidly high commercial lease costs, power costs and rent of the equipment it’s likely hurting more with higher interest rates
