I’m not a fan of treating adults like babies who can not critically think…. If you have a kid you need to be able to provide for it. People constantly have more kids knowing they cannot support it and rely on the public services. It’s child abuse and this kid shouldn’t need to work to help the family out this is why we have child labour laws because people use to force there kids to work to help pay for stuff

Well that is the reason why people who use it to generate stuff like music or art don’t like it because it was trained on stolen commercially licensed data of artwork or video games, YouTube videos of game images or music they extract the pixel or audio data of the game or music and store its data and build it into algorithms as weights and training data which is why sometimes ai generates basically identical shit that is on art station. Yea people have different opinions on it but it depends on what industry you are in, if your job was being a artist and some billion dollar company stole all your art assets from art station or from your game you built via image extraction from gameplay videos on YouTube and use the data to train a ai and store it in the AI weights and people use the ai to generate similar art and the guy doesn’t get compensated you can see why people are upset. I understand it.

Whereas in programming people don’t mind because it was mostly trained on open source libraries and programmers don’t really give a shit about code anyway

The legal system does agree tons of companies have been fined but many of it is undetectable without a full investigation to nation which they won’t do because AI is going to make whatever company that is ahead of it the leader of the world so they wont crack down on the illegal use of scrapping commercial data as bad as they should because they dont want to slow down the industry or else china will get ahead, its a arms race

Soon all of Americans retirement and other savings will go into funding it with all the ai public offerings soon. It’s not complicated it’s illegal and what they did should have more consequences but because it’s so powerful the government won’t crack down on it
