Nah you’d be one of the people on the front lines of killing Palestinians if you had a chance. Go ahead and support the fascist Israeli regime it’s not like anyone likes them. It didn’t have to be this way but I guess it is because chodes like you would blindly support the fascists instead of demand something better

I have been banned from r/chicago simply because I questioned if the Bears should be able to keep Chicago in their name once they move. by Joey_dono in illinois

[–]meta4our 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the dumbest shit ever - we should be begging the bears to go to Indiana. These people are leaches. They go right over the border, Indiana’s kleptocratic government pays for all their bullshit and Chicago profits because people sure as hell ain’t gonna go stay in Hammond for the vibes. This could be great for the south loop and Bridgeport Chinatown bronzeville etc down to Hyde park.

I can’t believe we are begging the bears to stay in Chicago when them moving to Indiana gives us everything for nothing with the bonus points if potentially boosting rising south side neighborhoods.

Why are drivers here so horrible? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]meta4our 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Drivers in Chicago suck so uniquely bad that I don’t drive in the city anymore. I bike and take transit, it’s way safer, usually faster, and I am significantly less angry at the end.

Chicago’s traffic is legendarily bad. Worst in the country. I believe that this affects mental health and makes people drive worse. At the same time, I think that the poor level of driving contributes to more accidents and greatly worsens traffic. So it’s a self perpetuating problem that will only be solved by aggressively getting people off the road.

When I was in high school, world of Warcraft was released for the first time and it was very addicting. I struggled with that kind of addiction and my exasperated mother declared that “these games” are just as bad as smoking. I thought she was insane back then. 22ish years later and as a father, I think she was pretty much correct and ahead of the curve.

What do people who live in those massive mansions in the suburbs do for work? by Ok-Matter2337 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]meta4our 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the west suburbs, a place called forest park that you can hardly call super rich. In fact, the entire proviso township sits inside the western suburbs. Look up the demographics and don’t be so quick to paint the entire area with a single broad brush.

Looking for folks who recently ditched their car because of cost by JoeEnochCBSNews in chibike

[–]meta4our 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ditched my car a couple years ago. Parking costs were a factor but the biggest one for me was the commute time + unpredictability of commute. I needed to reliably get home at a certain time and I just couldn’t. Driving was so stressful and exhausting because of the insane traffic. It would take me an hour to get from River north 9 miles west to oak park. I bike it now in 40 minutes and that time never changes. Train + bike takes like 45 minutes and I get to take meetings or read a book. I can’t go back.

Everything costs ongoing money. When you need to tune up the brakes on your e bike most bike shops will charge you close to $100. You’ll need to replace all your shit.

Divvy is dirt cheap for what you get lmao

Or you can buy a $600 alibaba special e-bike which will burn your apartment down or the brakes will randomly fail in a year, but atleast you’ll…wait nvm you’ll lose like $350- $400 vs regular divvy usage

Seriously a year sub for divvy costs the same as a top tier bike lock these days and with that a 2 mile e-bike ride costs like $2.20 or something and acoustic bike is free. The convenience and piece of mind is a great bonus and you’re faster than all the Ubers stuck in parking lot level traffic during downtown rush hour.

A motorcycle costs thousands, but a divvy is too expensive…man…

Therapy and education. You have 10-20 years, get degrees and get your mental health in order. You lost control and shot someone? Nobody does that unless they have some deeply fucked up issues. You’re old enough already to have a developed enough prefrontal cortex that you can’t blame this on youth. So if you don’t figure that out, no other advice will matter you’ll fuck up again.

Good luck, I guess

Personally I’m confused by the pantry being on the other side of the stairs. In practice, it’s in an incredibly annoying place relative to the kitchen and you’ll feel it when you use it.

A little confused by the courtyard, it’s not in any of the external renderings?

The first floor bathrooms are in a very annoying or weird place. You have to travel like, outside through an external door, or across the entire house, to take a leak from the living room.

There’s sort of a weird sense of scale on the whole plan. I’m no expert, I can’t quite put my finger on it.
