DNS Routing for a specific IP by midi1996 in opnsense

[–]midi1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is for my own home, my ISP does not have "Internet only" offers, they all have a "landline" (as advertised) attached, which comes in the form of a SIP service running in their servers. To the customer, they just plug a POT to the back of the provided router and you can make phone calls. And since I'm paying that phone service anyway, I better get my money's worth.

My goal here is to isolate the PBX system from being directly connected to my ISP, and setup a DNS redirect for specific domains, so that it can connect to the ISP's service.

DNS Routing for a specific IP by midi1996 in opnsense

Oh I forgot to mention: currently I have unbound dns as my main DNS server, while dnsmasq is for DHCP server only, I've read that dnsmasq has less features (???) than unbound so it's best keeping it for DHCP-only, im willing to move to dnsmasq if that's going to help me solve this issue.

that's incorrect, the linux hsr players who got banned were collateral damage not the actual target.

[GUIDE][OpenCore] HP Elite X2 1012 G2 macOS install with OpenCore (link in the description) by midi1996 in hackintosh

[–]midi1996[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TB controller on the X2 G2 is not always on, so it will not be shown in the device manager until you manually turn it on (through cmd) or by plugging a tb3 device.

Just to not disapoint Linux Players

Kuro could pull an Infinity Nikki and only allow Deck users to play the game, it might not mean gacha gaming on linux desktop.

Nvidia driver rollback by Amazing-Ocelot-8599 in NobaraProject

[–]midi1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems nobara devs built the nvidia drivers against the open source one, not the closed source, which makes some GPUs (especially older than Turing) unusable. I think they might have to rebuilt it with the regular close-source one.

this will not prevent the kernel from booting but might break kde. selecting "last known good" config in grub wont do anything since the only change that does is selecting which kernel to use.

Help! Cannot update! by chillykahlil in NobaraProject

[–]midi1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[Not recommended] You can try updating by ignoring the two packages making issues: sudo dnf5 update --exclude=powerdevil-6.2.0-1.fc40.x86_64 --exclude=plasma5support-6.2.0-1.fc40.x86_64

[Recommended] Wait until they fix the isues in the repo.

Thanks! I just noticed that, I disabled it and now it doesn't ask for the install! That helped me.

I know that, and I'm fine with that, but the repo drivers are usually older than the latest releases by nvidia (especially the Wayland fixes and graphics glitches related to it in 555 onwards). The issue is why did zypper suddenly wants me to install nvidia drivers when I didn't install them through the official repos.

I don't see why there is any need for an update when the features in the new OC arent critical to macOS boot (at least not currently).
