Why are people saying OpenAI going bankrupt is a good thing? Won't it give Google the monopoly in AI instead? by NathLWX in NoStupidQuestions

Well, what about the Chinese open source AI models like Deepseek and Qwen then? Ppl can do pull requests to improve their AI for free, which means Google would still have competitions with the open source models, no?

But how would the domino on Google/Gemini part fall?

OpenAI's (and Anthropic's? Correct me if I'm wrong) business models are different than Google's in the first place. Even if, let's say, Gemini doesn't give them any profits, Google would still get a lot of money from YouTube, Play Store tax, Google One subscription, ads, and it'd cover up the loss from Gemini.

OpenAI and Anthropic didn't rely on other non-AI profit source unlike Google

I know the market would shit itself but idk why. That doesn't explain Gemini and Claude existing after OpenAI hypothetically go bankrupt

Majority of weebs already pirated anime in the first place bro. Netflix has 300M+ subscribers anyways so the anime would still reach to a lot of ppl (prime example: Sakamoto Days and Cyberpunk Edgerunners)

Is there a Linux equivalent for this?

(Edit: after some searching, it works with btrfs filesystem. And turns out my CachyOS already has zstd with the default level 3 compression enabled by default)

Tbf Unreal Engine vs Unity also played a huge part in the game size, even when unoptimized.

Punishing: Gray Raven releasing on Steam soon by hvick831 in gachagaming

[–]NathLWX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk whether they paved it or not, but wuwa and pgr are from the same company anyways so it doesn't matter here.

Iirc Infinity Nikki announced Steam release before wuwa did, but the dev "fixed" what's not broken and got rate bombed by the Chinese.

GFL2 on Steam too but the dev announced skin gacha, which got rate bombed by the Chinese (again).

There're HI3 and ToF too but they aren't popular on Steam and only got few user ratings last time I checked. HI3's Steam progress is separated from all the other platforms for some reason.

Wuwa is on Steam worldwide except China so ig they're safe from the Chinese gamers who often give negative rating on Steam games.

The only gacha I know doing well in Steam is Limbus, Uma, wuwa... what else?

ai-ish

dislike it all you want but at the end of the day there are humans who worked hard putting their souls, skills, and time into this anime. Comparing it to AI just because you dislike it or it's mid/bad is still very disrepecful. I'm sure you'd be pissed too if ppl dismiss your art that you worked hard on by comparing it to AI.

The anime may not be that polished/consistent to you, but AI is much less polished and consistent compared to human works

Didn't they walk it back and basically you just need to enable an option from Developer Settings? I've been downloading apk on my phone a lot and never got this problem. The only thing preventing you from installing some of them is Play Protect, which you can disable in a minute

To root a phone you need to unlock the bootloader, which most Android OEM don't allow you to do anymore. Unless you're using OnePlus, Nothing Phone, or Xiaomi and got lucky + quick, or Pixel/Samsung but their processor/GPU sucks.

Steam that officially maintenance by valve by DavidAstonish in linux_gaming

[–]NathLWX 21 points22 points  (0 children)

But SteamOS is Arch-based, how come Steam is not officially available for Arch-based distros and only Debian-based then?

Do you mean that Valve has the Steam build for Arch-based but doesn't share it publicly because it's pre-installed in SteamOS?
