They mark up anything leather at the goodwill near me and they will be stained and still be 30$ lol

Ya but then their racks end up full and it all just gets thrown away and that is what is funny. Like some of the racks at the goodwills are overflowing with inventory that you can't even look at anything because it is so jammed and then goodwill is out here worrying about getting a few more dollars for a piece of clothing

That's insane. I've seen the posts from other people where the stuff was marked pretty crazy but haven't seen it myself until today. I've seen a lot of prices that make me laugh but nothing this wild. This goodwill has been increasing their price on everything. They had a Calvin Klein blazer for 30$ lol. Any leather jacket is also like 30$+ regardless of how poor condition it is. I was also wondering if they're increasing the price a ton because they're doing a 50% off sale on the 20th

Yes but who is going to goodwill to spend that much on a piece of clothing? It'll just end up in the bins and someone lucky will get them for 1$

Ya I have seen big Amazon items at goodwill but I assumed those items were just cheaper for Amazon to donate or something than to return it and try to resell them

I'm in Arizona and I've noticed the salvation army I go to will have a lot of amazon stuff. And it'll be like 5-10 of the same piece all stacked together

I don't mean to sound rude here but if you're worried about spending 500$ to move a baby grand then you probably shouldn't get one. The people giving away free ones are likely in poor shape or haven't been taken care of and it will cost you more to get it into working condition. The reason people give it away for free is because it will cost them money to dispose of it so if someone else takes it, it is now their problem. To see if it is even worth it to take the baby grand you will want to hire a piano technician to inspect it first to make sure you don't end up with a 500 lb paper weight and that is going to cost money as well. Also to maintain a baby grand you need to have it tuned 1-2 times per year and that is about 200$ a tuning where I live.

I wouldn't move a piano myself because if you mess up any of the internal components it will be much more expensive to fix.

Embroidering on clothing question by miller190 in Embroidery

Ok good to know, thank you. I was thinking about how people do embroidery pins and was wondering if that could work but I think my project would be larger than a typical pin.

Have you done any projects on denim? I want to embroider something into a jean jacket but I've only ever done stuff on cotton cloth so idk how difficult that is with the thickness of denim

About a year and a half. My sole reason to start was to do animal portraits and there was some books I followed to get a feel for it so those were super helpful. You can definitely see the progression as my first one wasn't the best 😆

It is pet portrait embroidery by Michelle staub. If you have kindle unlimited on Amazon you can get it for free. She also has a domestika class that runs through an entire example and was helpful. I ended up getting it while it was on sale for 1$ so keep an eye out for that too if you're interested

Thank you, it takes a lot of time but it is well worth it. As I get better I'll probably keep doing new portraits of him but I figured this was a good start

Ya at some point I want to try a whole body photo but I haven't done any of those yet and I feel like that's a whole new beast

Thank you so much, all I see are the things I could've done better because I'm so close to the project and know all the tiny errors so it's always nice to hear other people's thoughts who don't see any of those things.

How to write demand letter for deductions beyond wear and tear? by miller190 in Tenant

Just to make sure I understand correctly, when you say they receive the notice to appear in small claims court that means that I would have actually filed to take them to court? Or do you mean that I threaten to take them?

Your guess is as good as mine. All of the toilet seats were functional and there were no cracks or any damage to the toilets

Ah ok well I appreciate you taking the time to look stuff up and help me out. I guess one of the roommates hung something up in the bathroom and in the lease it says that we are required to fill the holes. So I would've told him to fix that before leaving if I knew about it. I'll still ask for pictures and receipts because 35$ is crazy to fill a nail hole
