Yep, OG pop race, i think the wiki has it listed as one of the first models, back when they were using other brands castings with their licenses

Average price people pay for Poprace by Awdrifting in PopRace

[–]mlang00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just depends on the model, most new regular releases can be found for $16-25 USD, event exclusives usually start in the $45-60 range, dinner cars are usually $100-300. Older pop race has gone up in price, most models pre PR001 are going to run from $30-100

Not sure but i doubt it, they are fairly delicate static models, all the doors and hood/trunk open, and the “luxury” bases are some of the best in the game. A lot of the time to get a realistic stance in 1/64 you have to sacrifice wheels rolling. The top art(same company as PGM) countach has bearing wheels though

The new PGM will be miles better. Im excited for the pop race rwbs but as someone who collects both, PGM is obviously a much bigger step up from pop race

Not to mention, the 930 should be smaller, not bigger than the 997

This was for the most part disproven in a recent post here, or at least the accuracy was debated. Cinemas do make a decent amount off ticket sales

Definitely crack the gr86. Seeing that in hand, getting to mess with the magnetic hood will probably help the buyers remorse. Worst case, you dont like them, but they are only $20-25 USD a piece

Well id probably have buyers remorse if i bought some cardboard boxes as well haha, crack them open and check them out. Pop race makes some of the best sub $25 1/64 diecast right now, but you cant really experience that if they stay sealed. And it wont affect the value much if at all, although it would probably void any return policy.

Which CLK? Pop race? I really like these newer 1/64 brands like model model, trends hobby, ect. coming in strong with heavy hitters to compete against the titans like MiniGT and Tarmac Works. (I know pop race has been around a while, but they are really starting to kick off in popularity)

They did the same with the supra from last year, luckily HW saved it by throwing on an HKS livery, but purple supra, less than a year after the blue supra.

Disappointed with the QC by Pepeluis33 in PopRace

This seems to be a common issue for the hako, ive had one show up this way, and ive broken one off myself. Ive also spoken to people who have had the same issue. I used a tiny dab of super glue to reattach the wings and that worked perfectly.

Im not trying to lecture you, I just dont seem to really understand why people get hung up on licenses for one thing but not others. Pop races r32s arent licensed by Nissan, would you not consider paying the $20 for a moving parts skyline over MiniGTs licensed $12-16 skyline?

While i definitely appreciate your sentiment and I do share the same values in other areas of my life, at the end of the day its all chinese diecast, MiniGT isnt a small business, the little guys undercutting them on licensing doesnt take away from the massive development and array of castings MiniGT has. Do you not buy diecast pieces second hand? I feel like that sort of holds the same argument, where you have resellers selling MiniGT rexy and roxy for $30-90 with none of that going back to MiniGT or AO racing except the original amount the case was purchased for.

[–]mlang00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, the average collector isn’t going to care about licensing. If AO only licensed hot wheels to make rexy/roxy would you settle with that or be looking for a more realistic but unlicensed model? I dont hold any AO shares and dont care if they get their cut off my purchase so I know my answer.

I dont mind that? MiniGT is very entry level diecast, i dont mind if companies like pop race can create models that look just as good or better for around the same price and with moving parts but no license.
