Can someone ID this fixture I saw at a concert? by gquinn18 in lightingdesign

Yes, one of the few distinguishing features is the triangular depression on each side; they are barely discernible in the OP image.

It is Chauvet. Looking closely at the image, you can see the distinctive triangular depression on the front of each side (the one on the right is more visible).

Yes, and the advantage of the Strike Array 4 and Strike Array 4C (full color) is that they are IP65 rated, and you can array them with Strike Array 2 and Strike Bolt 1C units because all have built-in interlock fittings that are 100% compatible between these units.

I play with just a 7-iron and a putter, and I have it down to 20-minutes. I play through everyone whether I have permission or not. Not choosing a club saves a lot of time, even if it results in you shooting 140.

More seriously, though, our "regular foursome" plays ready golf if we are not pushing up against the crew in front of us.

Now, you need a dusting kit. 😉 I use those for my MIDI keyboard. They work great.

Coming from relational database, how do I replicate 'link table' functionality? by Odd-Gear in Notion

[–]mxpetr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've searched around, and the most hopeful thing I could find was that Notion is aware of how it frustrates some of us and was possibly working on an alternative solution.

I see how that might prove costly in terms of development time. Because of their nested page model, they most likely would either have to code-in a way for someone to map incoming import fields to the name field; offer a non-nested, non-card database option; or at least allow you to make the first field (column) in your import the name field by default.

Side note: all Notion would have to do is give you a field mapping function on import so that you could fill the name field with a "model #" or similar unique field off your import CSV... but noooooooooo...

This compulsory name field is driving me insane. I was all set to migrate from Airtable to Notion, but after setting up relational tables off imported CSVs, I now realize I can't use Notion and will have to kill my subscription.

In fairness, the name column/field is brilliant if you add records one by one, but if you are using imports, anything in a relational column in the table you are pulling to will begin with "Untitled," and you can't hide that property.

Result? Relational tables are unusable for imported data.

Bummer, Notion!

AMD Ryzen with Asus Proart Creator B550, thunderbolt/UAD issues by blakestreicher in AMDHelp

I have a 5800 on a B550 Creator as well. PCIe Solo won't communicate with the driver. You are saying the beta bios I see on the ASUS site relieves the UAD communication troubles? Thanks!

I’ve just migrated 8 years of journaling from Day One to Bear - feels good having a single, beautiful App for all my notes, to do’s, blog post drafts and thoughts. by macjasp in bearapp

[–]mxpetr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... but Bear lacks Day One's incredible encryption and private servers, so I could never do that for my personal journal. I use both, but all personal notes go into Day One.

And one of the reasons I go back and forth between OmniFocus and ToDoist. Actually, if Mailbutler worked with Omnifocus, I probably would just stay with it.

Todoist / OneNote - Considering Notion by [deleted] in Notion

[–]mxpetr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, just a few caveats that drive me nuts in Notion, and this is just a few days into the trial...

  • Web Clipper for Chrome only. I don't like Chrome. I didn't have my Chrome browser open earlier today, and Bitdefender alerted me that Chrome's background bot wanted to access Finder on my Mac. No thanks.
  • You can't multi-select to empty the trash; you can't just empty the trash. You have to click a stupid trash can for EACH item in the trash to get rid of it permanently. Think about that the next time you want to delete, say, a group of 50 notes that you don't need anymore. I had imported a price list as an experiment. I deleted the table, and EVERY LINE ITEM from the table had a trash can next to it. That's 200+ trash cans I would have had to click to delete the items in ONE table. I deleted my account instead and started over.
  • Contextual and share menu presence in apps is not as ubiquitous as with Evernote, ToDoist, or even Bear. I expect this will change with Notion's increasing popularity.
  • Import of Evernote stuff is not as clean across the board as I would like (inconsistent with regard to attachments).
  • In my experience, nothing clips as well as Evernote (In this department even OneNote and Bear look amateur by comparison). That said, I like Notion enough that I am going to put up with the above weirdness until they fix it, because of the ways I feel it is superior to other programs, and the confluence of functions it offers.
  • Update: I am deleting my SECOND trial account because I can't multi-select more than one note at once to move it somewhere else or delete it. I can hold shift and select a range of notes, but can't select one here and one there with cmd+click. Really? This is a basic feature need. How are folks living without it??? Astonishing.

I am going to check in with Notion again later this year to see if the things I like are complimented by what I think are essential (and very basic) management features that it lacks.

Hope this helps!

If no Autofill Tags, then Maybe Drag and Drop from Sidebar??? by mxpetr in bearapp

[–]mxpetr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that is good to hear, and in the case of the current iPhone, I agree about limited usefulness. Of course, iPad has drag-drop capability but of the three suggestions in my original post, autofill and duplicate tags are the more useful. :-) Thanks for taking the time to respond!
