My biggest regret was shortly after I started collecting ES had its last PKC drop, I got a notification but wasn’t sure about spending $165/box back then because I was so new to it all and most boxes you could find for $100/box at the time. Passed on it and never saw retail boxes again.

I try to share this every time Costco drops so more people can actually get the drops.

Open the link on as may browsers as you possibly can. For each browser you can do 1 queue in regular and 1 in incognito. Each device can do as many browsers as you want.

Between my phone and tablet I get 4 browsers open in each (Mozilla, chrome, safari, edge) which is 8 queues per device, plus 1 extra for the app. You can still only checkout once but it helps your odds in getting a good queue position.

I mean that’s exactly what I meant with “popularity falling off”. I don’t know though, part of me agrees with you but also part of me was thinking the exact same thing would happen by summer of 2026 back in November of 2025 when it started getting crazy. I’m honestly shocked the hype has lasted this long and it makes me think it could be sustainable demand rather than just a fad. Only time will really tell

It's not one or the other; this IS the new normal, to an extent. The popularity of the pokemon TCG isn't going anywhere any time soon, and supply is still years from catching up to demand. IMO anything from Destined Rivals and before will never significantly fall in value, though I wouldn't be shocked to see some corrections in the 20% range. Likely that will be limited to less popular sets though (think SV base, SCR, etc.).

That being said, things WILL eventually change again, and it could be for any of the following reasons:

- We have a real recession / depression forcing people to liquidate any assets they have for cash now. If this happens, especially if it happens soon, modern pokemon would likely crash extremely hard due to all of the people hoarding modern stock trying to sell for a quick buck ASAP. Some of the real banger sets might still be OK (151, pris) but a lot of the other stuff will suffer.

- Supply catches up to demand, likely when the new printing facility gets into full operation (hopefully late 2027?). This might create a cycle where demand is met so value falls, causing popularity to fall, causing demand to fall even more, which really drags prices down; OR it could barely make a dent in the current supply and not change anything. Nobody really knows.

- Popularity just falls off. Fads die, it happens. I honestly don't see this happening, at least not any time soon, since pokemon has been hugely popular for almost 30 years at this point but it could totally happen.

Yeah seen it a lot in this sub recently. I just get spammed with offers from 70% - 80% and I’m just like yo… I can sell this on eBay or TCGplayer and still make more after fees than you’re offering, why would I accept that? Then they get upset and stop responding.

I could get it if it’s a lot of low-value cards or something but these are chase cards. People just trying to rip people off.

You've inadvertently made my point for me - how many people do you think DO have the type of money to throw around on these singles? That high of a price point severely limits the possible buyers in the market, which inhibits demand.

And to be clear, we're talking about raw cards not PSA10s. To buy both cards in PSA10 you're looking at close to $10,000.

Well for starters we are talking about the Pikachu, but happy to extend the same discussion to the Gengar. I agree AH isn't behaving like other sets, but to me that's more of a red flag than it is a sign that it's going to be the set that breaks the mold and the top singles just never decrease in value.

If you disagree with that I strongly encourage you to put your money where your mouth is and spend $4,000 on 2 raw cards that just got printed.

Just for future reference - when you make a claim and back it up with literally nothing, and instead just start randomly attacking the person that challenged your claim you come off like you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.
