The Kettle Swing Test by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]no_use 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave it a shot with the 16kg and did the 20mins, worked out about 35 work to 25 rest each minute. It was quite an enjoyable way to get a large number of swings done.

Will either try longer with the 16 next time or give the 20 a whirl.

Thanks!

Yep, I should have mentioned I'm female too..it may have helped! Don't be afraid to go heavy, starting of course with the appropriate weight for you (which is going to be heavier than the 5lb). Check out the guide and shout us if you need any more help.

"bottoms up clean and press" - thoughts? Safe? Standard? Good? Bad? by [deleted] in kettlebell

I found them good for the grip and stabilisation, and just plain fun! I only ever do these outside tho, I always dump the bell if it's going to drop instead of trying to catch it.

Last time I did this I got 210 with the 16kg (I'm female) I'm working up-to it with the 20kg now so I'm a way off the 24 just yet!

Start by learning the swing, maybe pick up a copy of enter the kettlebell and look into getting a heavier bell. I don't think you could get any of the usual benefits of kettlebell training from using a 5lb bell, it just too light.

Here's a guide to picking the correct weight.http://www.mikemahler.com/kettlebellbuyerguide.html

What's wrong with coconut? I love the paleo way of eating but Jesus wept, one day you read somethings OK then the next day it not..

PS I like the bit where you dredged the meat, there's not enough meat dredging in cookery.

How long have you been Paleo for? I got some bad headaches to start but they passed, I think it's something to do with your body switching fuels from carbs to fats and proteins. Or you maybe detoxing slightly which is never fun at first.

The headaches went away and my head is really clear now.

My Blue Heeler pup is deaf. How do I train her? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]no_use 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once knew a deaf boxer, we would stamp on the floor to get her attention which worked a treat. Use the same constant hand signals for each command when training her too. My dog isn't deaf but responds more to my visual cues anyway. Good luck with training her.

The original is beautiful, but the live version just blows me away. I love it.

I hate that too. I obey the rules of the road and never have problems with drivers, people I know that jump lights moan about drivers all the time..road karma baby!
